They can and should certainly make H1b process a million times harder than it is. People come over with fake and padded resumes and get high paying IT jobs. I am Indian and know all too well how it works.

So yes, Dems should offer something in return - DACA for stricter H1B and doing away with diversity visa completely... but dems aren't going to so back to square 1.
They definitely wanted to cut H-1Bs as well as get rid of F1, F2A, F2B, F3, F4, and DV lottery despite the fact that that's legal immigration. Make no mistake, we're just the easiest for fascists for bludgeon, if we were to disappear tomorrow they'd start bitching about Indians next.

People who complain about us are already complaining about the "Indians" aka the anti-immigration crowd.

Most of the republican party hates the H1B program though, and in this epic economic downturn its these temporary work programs that are first on the chopping block. They are even forecasting 200 thousand H1Bs will become illegal in June.

I know Indians on H1B and lots of them are good people, and I haven't seen evidence of any imcompetence or forged skills.

That doesn't mean our hides are safe, it's just that they are closer to getting boned than we are but we are right after them. If not right before.

In any case, this extension of work permits is really just atole con el dedo. For you non latino undocs it means a "a small taste in a humiliating way."

Dems should offer a fair deal, DACAs for wall, but only after the supreme court finishes off DACA. These small deals only end up being permanently temporary.

Seven Years Eight Months since DACA started.

by the time my current DACA ends, I will have had 9 Years of DACA. but you know some people have such a hard-on for the law, myself included, that nope, we must do a strict interpretation.

Law reflects the ideal world of the writer at the time it was written, but the world is imperfect and full of undefined grey areas.

This is my home, I live in the grey area and only venture out sporadically.

You have an EAD , yet you support Trump and Republicans who are actively trying to take that away from you huh?

I haven't known him for too long, but this is just a plainly unfair and slanderous accusation. Many people give him the business because he doesn't follow the groupthink in here, but I certainly don't think he has ever said he wants his EAD taken away.

These accusations of Trump support are more often than not pure slander. I know this because I've thrown my fair share of red accusations against various forum creeps.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being a republican DACA, there certainly are bound to be a few who are drawn to other parts of republicanism like fiscal conservatism, or a strong self reliant nation. But we can all agree in here that repbulicans today are absolutely horrifically bad at immigration, and happily so.

Those lose their seats and become replaced by dems. Republicans need to adapt to a younger, browner latino demographic if they want to have any hope of standing against dems.

Seriously just look at how close of an election trump had against a deeply unpopular hilldog. I mean seriously she couldn't even fill high school gymnasiums. They had to bring out highschoolers to pad the crowd of reporters LOL.

Trump was 3 million popular votes short

In several states the vote was incredibly tight.
Michigan, 0.23% – 16
New Hampshire, 0.37% – 4
Pennsylvania, 0.72% – 20
Wisconsin, 0.77% – 10

All cause hilldog didnt bother shoring up support in reliably blue areas. I think after the second trump term, the republican party will have to look deeply into itself and see if they need to do a massive rebranding to remain viable.

I don't think there will be a second term. There was a lot of morons who wanted change without caring what change will really be under Trump. He has his rabid base that constitutes his support floor but it looks like the independents have moved away. Also democratic voters are fucking pissed and you don't need more than to bring MI, WI, and PA back to the fold in order for a democrat to win the presidency.

Also you have to remember that swing voters aren't really common in US. What swings elections is which block votes and which block stays the fuck home.

With razor thin margins like these and an actually reasonably popular dem? I think we can go ahead and call the election for biden.

Well the republican block will certainly stay home due to the coronavirus. The elderly republican block is most certainly not coming out.

Young voters will make the difference, those who reached the legal voting age, 18-22 years old. Time to chant Fire Trump! Fire Trump!
