There's not enough time. If they sue things happen after the election. I'm fairly certain nothing is going to happen until the election unless Trump does some EO that'll shake things up.

True but I don't think he cares. He's hoping that he does get sued and two things happen 1) Federal courts allow whatever he's wanting to do until it reaches SCOTUS at which point he plays his cards and they give him a sign off 2) He expands DACA. Hopes that another state sues him for it. It makes it to SCOTUS (maybe when he's out of office, again doesn't matter to him) and they strike it down in a way that its interpreted that DACA like programs are unlawful.

I have a question. Lets say he does do an EO on giving DACA a path to citizenship can we apply and get it before he gets sued? if he does get sued will our Citizenship be revoked?

The "Path to citizenship" I'm sure doesn't mean you will become a citizen. That's impossible . Don't you have to hold a green card for certain number of years before you become a citizen?

Well yea but lets say we do get greencards. Will they revoke them if we do get them through the EO. What if lets say its open for a week and apply and get approved what happens if the EO gets sued in court.

Obviously Citizenship before GC is not possible. That is common knowledge, now you need to read between the lines when people say they want straight up citizenship.

What they are trying to say is give us GCs and honor the time we have had DACA for so we can apply for citizenship faster.

Or just to emphasize the point that we need to be legalized ASAP.

That is why we need Biden to win, because this administration cannot and will not get it done because it is a disaster. Enablers of it are part of the problems. Not the solution.

Ultimately you will lose the green card because there isn’t a pathway through actual immigration law; unless if I’m missing an obscure part of the law where it says the President or “the Secretary” has the discretion to do it.

If anything, a better and more radical approach is to expand the President’s pardon power to include civil law offenses and penalties. The constitution gives pardon power to the President for “offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment”. Federal courts have hinted that the pardon power could be used for civil law violations and penalties.

Since we’re skirting the constitution, I don’t see why the President couldn’t issue a blanket pardon or amnesty to a group of individuals covered under a certain guidelines that waives Immigration laws. Such a pardon would allow people who otherwise would be in violation of immigration law (unlawful entry, no lawful status, unlawfully present) to be apply for immigration benefits like legally admitted and lawful immigrants

That's tough to say, first of all we don't even know what the hell Trumpster is planning on doing. There's a lot of legal mumbo jumbo so a lot of uncertainty. I wouldn't worry if thats what you're doing. Lets let it pan out and see what happens. I am convinced that the admin is going to be doing SIGNIFICANT amounts of executive action in coming weeks.

Basically clearing the unlawful status, forcing us to go back and "get back in line" and process everything from scratch through a merit based system? Fuck that, rather fking shoot myself in the head than stepping into one of the most dangerous places on earth, at least i won't have to deal with the pain of being dismembered alive lmfaooo
