Because hoping is better than constantly being cynical. 2012 changed all our lives (tell me it didn't) and that came out of the blue after our issue being on the losing end for years. Anything is possible.

Democrats needs to stick together to pass this. Looks like it will pass the House but the Senate is the issue. If 50 democrat senators stick to this, the VP is the only person they need to make this into law

From what I have read, the Dems will try a guess and check approach to see what can get approved and with what language.. There may be multiple failures before something get approved. So buckle in.

I think part of Dems strategy is to frame immigration as a growth/revenue raising thing instead of doing it out of compassion, etc. This would really help them in making a case for it.
