This sums of the state of things - as in no one really knows. Best thing is keep an eye on your renewal date; and if you can afford it, renew early:

@leedsgarcia
Regarding the confusing nature of the 5th Circuit threat, the NY District Court opportunity, the angry Texas District Court judge, and the upcoming Biden Reg on #DACA - there is no 1 known scenario/path. But in all of them, Congress needs to act ASAP & pass permanent protections.

I’m contemplating sending my renewal in early even though I don’t expire until 2024. Hopefully it doesn’t get rejected

we all know congress is unable to pass anything and even if they try again it WILL fail.

Brace for impact we are about to lose it all.

I highly recommend you guys to watch this (at least starting at the 11:00 mark):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGqpnE7onVI

This guy gave a very nuanced analysis on the possible future of DACA.

it is a good pragmatic take.

pretty sure whoever is IN the DACA program will be safe for the foreseeable future.

He said the same thing I was thinking toward the end! This might be a situation where the can gets kicked down the road again until we are in danger again

GOP will try to address immigration after the next presidential election. the assumption will be that they have all branches of gov. Whether we like it, will be up to debate. I expect a bill like the Grassley one, 3-5 year renewable work permit, and no citizenship. If GOP has the 60 senate seats, that will be something that most likely passes.

No bill will pass while Biden is in office.

The Dream Act passed the house not too long ago, right?

Why aren't dems putting it through the process and eventually, putting it up for vote in the Senate? I know two stupid clowns will not support it, but how about the other Dems band together and send a message and add pressure... even if it's just symbolic and won't pass or will get fillibutered? (I already know the answer, but they should do something!)
