You shouldn't have to carry your documents. They can find out who you are from your fingerprints, photo, SSN, and Driver's License. My DL has the exact same information and it even has the gold star. Its that whole RealID.

Have you considered that carrying your card with you might pose more risk? Getting a REAL ID can serve as confirmation of your satisfactory immigration status. If you were to lose your card while carrying it with you, you could potentially be out $600 or more.

I carry mine with me all the time together with my id, debit card, CC I use the most and a 20/50 or 100 dollar bill.

I use a card clip, it fits perfectly in my front pocket, very convenient. I like it more than than traditional wallets you carry in your butt.
