A few days ago, Trump SAID 300 million people in the US died from drugs in the previous year. The total US population is about 340 million.

In July, he also SAID national gas was under $2/G.

In his first term, he SAID Mexico will pay for the wall.

I could keep going. Let's move on from what Bloated Don has SAID. Place no stock in that. We are about a year from midterms and from when Trump becomes a lame duck. The playbook thus far has been Project 2025, plain and simple. Once hes a lame duck, the narrative will be to blame the Democrats, blame trans people, and blame immigrants. All of a sudden, us immigrats are going to be eating the dogs and cats again.

I know its hard to rely on his statements from pre-election for post election activities. Its all we have to go off of so far, other than random DHS officials making incorrect statements. I think the government should honor its commitment made to the DACA population and do an orderly wind-down if they are going to do so. These knee-jerk reactions don't actually work well long term.

Its also wild how he blurted out that statement that they are eating cats and dogs and people actually believed it. When even the police forces of the city came out against the statement.

But yeah he is likely to become lame duck if the economy continues on its negative path and no amount of lies are going to cover up what people see and hear. Presidencies are measured by how well the economy is doing under them. Everything else is secondary.

Why would you want “orderly wind down”?

You want DACA canceled?

You don’t have to wait for that. Just throw your EAD in trash right now!

Da faq?

One thing about what Trump said on DACA is he has been very consistent!

I want some sort of orderly transition into something more durable that isn't constantly getting threatened by misinformed individuals. Getting background checked every year and a half and spending $600 is a waste of resources.
If republican leadership were actually serious about the DACA population they've had a long time to do something about it. There is no need to wait for so long unless they plan on putting you in the mass deportations along with everyone else.
They can't even put together a bare minimum codifying DACA legislation since they are so allergic to solving our situation they'd rather it die by default so they can turn around and blame democrats for it like always.

Democrats get a lot of blame too, for playing along with the senate filibuster, for not overruling the parliamentarian, for ginsburg staying in her seat too long, for not playing dirty gerrymandering like republicans, for taking the high road and not blaming republicans when republicans blame democrats for everything.
Probably the reason democrats are so MIA is because they secretly agree with whats going on and want a reset to the baseline. That and they'd rather let incumbents have easy seats perpetuating the stagnation.

Honestly bro, that was whole bunch of nothing.

Open borders -- don't work

Millions of 3rd world migrants pouring in -- don't work

Dems did NOTHING while they had the power -- only exascerbated the problem.

Trump on DACA -- haven't killed it, could have 100%, but didn't. Been very consistent on "working something out".

Facts.

Whole crock pot of nothing: How republicans had a whole trump term and one year so far to do something for you and haven't. Where is the bill?

The statement from 2024 to work something is is from before he was elected. Now in 2025: DHS officially stated that DACA does not provide legal status and recipients "may be subject to arrest and deportation". This contradicts Trump's campaign-era statements.

In project 2025 they want to cut our work permits. They don't call DACA out by name but thats their goal. Project 2025 has been an uncontained and uncontested self inflicted disaster of disasters.

Don't simp for Republicans, Libertarians, or any of their like. Look at what happened to that Indian guy, Vivek Ramasquamy, he didn't even make it into the cabinet. And he was told to his face that theyd never support him for president because he was indian. He is STILL simping for republicans. At best, if you simp for them they tolerate you as one of the good ones, until its time for you to be kicked out.

Honestly, the most puzzling fact of this country is why anyone who isn't rich or obnoxiously religious simps for republicans. I think some got promised $5,000 but that promise never materialized. Others thought groceries would go down in price but prices have only gone up? I think they might get their mass deportations but with jobs already down 1 million its not looking too rosy.
