In some countries, it costs $10 to print out any diploma.
It is up the USCIS to decide if the diploma, transcript etc the applicant provides is real. I'm sure they are aware of fraud.

P.S. I'm not against ending DV Lottery, but let's stick to the facts

deals will be made. the Dream Act will pass!
Let’s hope so. Seriously people have to accept this is a world we have to compromise on somethjng that isn’t basic rights sometimes. We entitled to live so we shouldn’t trade people’s life over a tax cut that only benefits the rich. But lottery program is a luck program and DOES NOT kill people because that’s a privilege. The reason we fight to get DA to pass because it affects us. If people want to keep DV, tell Congress.

Graham said he would support linking the two issues, and Perdue, separately, added that ending the lottery “must be part of any Congressional solution to fix our country's immigration problems.”

But other key senators in both parties said the two issues should be resolved separately.

“I think we have a very sensitive path to walk here because we don’t want to get down into comprehensive immigration reform again. I’ve been here 15 years. It always fails,” Cornyn said.

Cornyn said Congress should “address the DACA population and deal with border security and some of those measures and then use that as a confidence building measure to move on and do other immigration reform. There’s a lot of other things beyond just the diversity lottery, visa lottery.”

Durbin, who like Cornyn scoffed when asked about dropping the issue into the DACA talks, warned against turning the negotiations into an immigration catch-all

“Please. Stop loading things on for these poor kids. Let’s get them taken care of. Everybody’s got every immigration idea in the world and they want to put it on the backs of these kids,” he said.

Graham and Durbin have been in negotiations with GOP senators about how to pass a bill protecting DACA recipients.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, has also been in talks largely with GOP senators on his committee about pairing a DACA fix with border security and enforcement measures.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), a member of the Grassley group, said he was open to reviewing the visa program but warned against tying it to DACA.

“It’s a good idea. It’s a worthy subject to focus on, but that takes a step down the slippery slope of comprehensive [reform],” he said.

He added that the lottery program should be “folded into the discussion on the subsequent phases of immigration reform because, you know, we’ve got a lot of visa programs that we need to look at. ... But unless it’s coupled with something else I don’t know how we would get the 60 votes.”

I’m guessing this won’t be tied to a daca fix?

GOD LEE! You guys arguing like you have any say in what happens! It is okay to not agree with someone's political views and no, it is not okay to say that someone who would deport their parents or is a traitor just because they have varying opinions.

Let's have a fair exchange of opinions (like we went to college and can appreciate a topic for debate) rather than arguing like hoodrats.

Let's be serious, the only things that will be tied to daca fix include what our corporate overlords agree with. They want daca because it makes them money, they don't want everify because it loses them money. Similarly they don't want to get rid of DV because it provides cheap labor (like every other immigrant visa).

I highly doubt major corporate companies will be affected by the end of DV as much as they would by the end of DACA but to your point, money has and will always talk.

The point is - lets just not compared DV with DACA recipients. We freaking grew up here and American is every way but one (papers).. big difference!

Not comparing DACA with DV. Trading DV for DACA is equivalent to trading any visa program for DACA, something that most people (including corporate overlords) don't support. And yes, major corporate companies are affected by DV. Low skill workers are employed by hospitality, food services, and transportation services industries. Lots of $$ involved.

Part of me likes it, part of me regrets it as I've seen what's basically institutionalized eugenic immigration does to 3rd world countries and the advantage 1st world countries gain from it.

Also, prepare for a flood of overeducated Chinese to compete against.
