Don’t kid yourself if you think you are out of the shadows because you have “DACA”. It’s temporary and not a long term solution nor is it a security blanket you can build your future on. It can go away just as fast as it came.

I guess we don’t have a choice or a voice in this so we have to take what we get...but one can be hopeful that this cycle of “second class citizen” ends and live life fully without being afraid of it being snatched away from you in an instant.

Second class citizenship is better than no citizenship or deportation.

This would be the worst case scenario, if they codify DACA in a few years they could make us citizens. It’s a lot easier to evolve a law than to take away...

Trump and republicans politically out maneuver the democrats and we lost. We lost and end up with a shit deal. What choose do we have right now.

I also doubt McConnell's willingness to bring this bill up for a vote.

In the worst case you get to work, live, plan your future and freely travel without fear of deportation. In the best case, for those who believe democrats will rule the world in 2020, they will save us then. But let me remind folks who forget, they deprioritized us as soon as they gained control of the government. Not until 2012, right before a reelection, they did DACA, which was a 2 year renewal work permit.

I don't see a huge difference between a GC and a renewable work permit+travel. Maybe someone can explain? Maybe the fees? The point I made about getting married is IF you really care about citizenship. If you don't, then you don't need to readjust your status. In my view, 10-12 years path to citizenship has little value to fight for.
And this is also what the rest of the undocumented (non-childhood arrivals) want: ability to work and live and travel in peace.

Next week all Senators are back in their home states.

Call, call, call. Ask to meet with them. Write. Protest.
Ask that they attach Dreamer relief to the next omnibus bill. And protect all Dreamers, aged out, the kids, and those who did not get a chance to apply. Ir is the least thay they can do. Everyone who is a childhood arrival should benefit.

No Dream Act relief, then no $$ for the wall.

Like I said that’s our worst scenario... not like we have that many options, some people on here need to wake up and realized we are not a priority, and probably never will.
