Is there any way for this to happen? Enlist Act is looking really strong right now, but not all DACA beneficiaries can benefit from that. Is there a way that they can attach RACA to the Enlist Act if it were to move forward?

Also, there is no version of RACA in the Senate, and no Democrat sponsors. But is either of those a requirement? I think I remember reading that a bill is stronger with bipartisan support, but that it's not technically required in order to bring it up for a vote.

Both proposed bills have pretty much the same Original Co-Sponsors and both were introduced by Republicans. RAC Act has a component that would allow us Dreamers to join the armed forces and naturalize immediately instead of waiting the 5 year conditional period. Of course you have to serve your contract or be honorable discharged to keep your status. I think the reason ENLIST Act has more support it's because it has a bigger chance getting out of committe with one of its Original Co-Sponsors Adam Smith being a ranking member of that committee. I think if ENLIST Act passes the chances of RAC Act passing later on are greater

No one ever spoke of it, but Dream Act would allow it too, nothing in it prohibited naturalization pursuant to INA 328 and 329.

Waiting on meaningful RACA updates. I see it's still stuck in limbo.

I think the only way we will see any meaningful updates on RACA (or any kind of relief) is under two circumstances:

1. If DACA is repealed then that will light a fire and "maybe" force some action. But I sincerely hope DACA is not repealed without RACA being passed first. If it is repealed then you can expect someone to start pushing for BRIDGE Act, RACA, or ENLIST, but there is no guarantee anything will pass.

2. If Trump wants money for all of his enforcement executive orders he is signing, he will have to offer some sort of relief or else he can forget about any kind of support from Democrats. He will have to go through congress and offer up some sort of reasonable deal, like maybe nationwide mandatory E-Verify in exchange for RACA. I think Trump might be willing to deal here. He failed in healthcare reform, and the Tax issue isn't looking too good either, so he needs a win. He can point to the latest statistics and claim he has "secured the border" and move for some sort of compromise. It won't be the all inclusive CIR that we want, but whatever he brings to the table is sure to include us as we are the most sympathetic group out there. And I think there are enough Dems that would sign on to something like that, I think we only need like 8 or so.

Hopefully they go with option 2. I would hate to risk losing DACA on the slim chance that it forces action.

Trump kept DACA so why not go one step more and deal with Dreamers permanently.

Something is brewing. Something good will come!
