Im going to take my permit test on Friday. Do we really have to wait the 6 months in order to take the behind-the-wheel and get the license?

No, i took mines two weeks after i passed my permit test.

About 20 mins. But it seemed like an eternity. Watch out for the bold guy mid 40's he is picky. Just cause i step on the solid white line when he asked me to turn in channel islands blvd he marked it as 6 points. And be sure to listen carefully for his instructions. Wel if you get him that is. No, i am 19. but i read somewhere on the DMV site that you have to wait 6 months.

Hey everyone, if you have a DL from your original country of birth, show it when you go take your written test. Instead of a driving permit, you will get a temp DL for 60 days. It allows you to drive on your own, and you can also go by yourself to take your behind the wheel test. I got mine yesterday

If you dont mind me asking, How do you have a DL from your country of birth in the 1st place?

Well there's people that go back to their home country to visit (innocent travel), and still get approved. I applied from here, and get it in the mail. Hella expensive tho
