Freedom Caucus Chair Mark Meadows told reporters President Trump committed to him that he wouldn't back an immigration bill unless he & Sen Tom Cotton backed it. Asked about Schumer saying Cotton can't be involved: "I don’t really care what Chuck Schumer says." per CNN.

not surprised, we cannot just get rid of Cotton's jabroni ass.

Best case scenario I can see how maybe some DACA resolution via Congress or Trump's signature but idk..... CR or DA seems too good to be true!
Democrats have finally stood their ground. There will be no spending bill or long term CR is DA isn't passed or attached to either one.

The thing is, they haven't even started negotiating on the new SPENDING BILL for this year. That is yet another battle that will take time and effort.

A good point about why the WH is fighting to keep the government open, beyond political optics: The toll a shutdown would have on Trump's big beautiful economy @SarahCWestwood

Another leverage for Dems, we know how much he tweets about DOW and Stock Exchange.

No matter what comes out of thiss meeting, I'm confident in Dems that thye're strongly united and not backing down.

The closer we get to State of the Union address, the more frantic Trump will be to sign off on a deal.

Exactly my point. This 5 day or 3 day stop gap is such a set up and will only lead to GOP getting more Dems on board to avoid a government shut down. Anyone that thinks that in 3-5 days will somehow see a good bill on the floor is delusional.
