The case has been made to the administration that a four- to five-week CR — with the ability to fund the anomalies for our military — would certainly be a welcome decision by many conservatives,” Meadows told reporters just off the House floor.

Meadows also argued that Congress should vote to raise the debt ceiling as part of any December funding package rather than wait until the U.S. reaches its borrowing limit sometime in January.

“At this point, if it’s coming due in January, why not include it in an end-of-the-year spending deal? Having another fiscal cliff weeks after the last one would not be prudent,” Meadows said before heading off to call Mick Mulvaney, the White House budget director, to discuss spending and debt issues.

Lmao republicans are delusional. They don’t want to agree to the democrats demands especially on daca , yet they also want a debt limit raise?

And Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who typically aligns with the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, said he would oppose a spending bill that continues funding into January, though he noted he would probably be a “no” on any CR or the omnibus.

But some members of the Freedom Caucus worry that if the extension only lasts through 2017, lawmakers will be more inclined to swallow a bad deal just so they can skip town before Christmas. The far-right group fears Republican leaders will include a DACA fix in the omnibus.

The thinking is that conservatives will have more leverage if they kick negotiations into January.
They expect democrats to give them the votes with all their demands. They have no plans of voting yes on any CR or spending bill anyway.

No. I am not surprised by it. Trump does not even love his own family. He is a huge narcissist.

My focus has been on trying to get him to work with Dems in trying to fix our situation. Calling him a racist and pissing him off on social media will not help do that. Certainly, demanding a clean bill and opposing any and all border security concessions to the GOP and Trump will not help either when you see (especially now) that he is not going to back down from some of the things he wants. So, stop being delusional and pressuring for something that is not going to happen under this administration. You were so convinced that a legalization bill would pass without any border security. what now? Look, he is being a huge dick and wants concessions demise. Come back from leftist wonderland.

If you guys refuse to work with the guy at all costs and prefer to end up with nothing, that's your problem. Some of us prefer to be strategic and work with the prick, so we can make positive advancements for the immigrant community. Some people cannot afford to end up with nothing dude. Some are breadwinners who have kids. Therefore, we cannot afford to be revolutionary leftists cucks and embrace these idealistic principles of refusing to work with a "racist" for a greater revolutionary cause. We have to protect ourselves from deportation and think about providing for our families.

We will continue to push for negotiations with Trump. We will continue to reach out to the guy until he agrees to come to the middle and fix the issue.
