Hurry up, Election Day!

'The Waiting' by Tom Petty

Quote:
(Chorus)
The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you get one more yard
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part
Quote:
Oh don't let it kill you baby, don't let it get to you
Don't let it kill you baby, don't let it get to you
I'll be your bleedin' heart, I'll be your cryin' fool
Don't let this go too far
Don't let it get to you

Research 2000 for Daily Kos. 10/14-15. Likely voters. MoE 4% (9/8-10 results)

Wicker (R) 47 (4
Musgrove (D) 46 (43)

DK :

12 percent of African Americans remain undecided (for the presidential question as well, suggesting that these individuals didn't feel comfortable talking to a pollster -- evidence of the "reverse Bradley" effect that undercounted Obama's support in the polls in Southern states during the primary). Those black "undecided" voters should be worth another two points for Musgrove. So the rest of the margin will need to come from either white voters, or increased turnout among African Americans.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Research 2000 for Daily Kos. 10/14-15. Likely voters. MoE 4% (5/5-7 results)

Cornyn (R) 50 (4
Noriega (D) 44 (44)
Adams (L) 2 (n/a)

Still an uphill battle, but there still hope.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
GA:

Sen: Chambliss (R-i) 47, Martin (D) 45, Buckley (L) 5

so what are the good news?

Early vote totals have now reached 499,582 -- about 75,000 more than were cast early in all of 2004. (The state is also newly encouraging early voting this year, so that's a major factor.)

And the ratio of African-American voters remains extremely high: 37% of the early votes were cast by black voters, who make up just 29% of the state's electorate.

CA-50: Bilbray (R) in serious trouble

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner for Nick Leibham. 10/13-14. Likely voters. MoE 4.9% (4/24-27 numbers).

Bilbray (R) 44 (56)
Leibham (D) 42 (34)

If you dont know who Bilbray is, he is one of FAIR's consultants in congress and they have poured a bunch of money in his campaign in the past. This guy is worse than Tom Tancredo.

US v. Stevens went to jury today. A decision is expected tomorrow.

New York Times:

Quote:
As the fate of Sen. Ted Stevens is placed in the hands of a jury today, the government's once-powerful corruption case against the long-serving Republican suddenly looks too close to call.

Because of a finding of prosecutorial misconduct by U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, one of the signature allegations in the indictment -- that Stevens got a sweetheart car deal from an Alaskan oil tycoon -- will not be considered by the jury.
If Stevens is acquitted, he will likely win reelection, although that is not guaranteed. If convicted, he will lose.

ok so we're finally here.

I'm not gonna post a last poll of all the senate candidates, im guessing if you are like me you are sick and tired of seen polls on the internetzzz and tv

anyway here's my last prediction (which is pretty much what DK is predicting with the difference that i think we can win GA and not a worry about runoff)

58 Democrats, 40 Republicans, 2 Independents

AK: Begich (D) by 15
CO: Udall (D) by 14
GA:Martin (D) by 5 --> come on Atlanta dont fail me!!!!!!!
KY: McConnell (R) by 3
ME: Collins (R) by 12
MN: Franken (D) by 4
MS-B: Wicker (R) by 4
NH: Shaheen (D) by 10
NM: Udall (D) by 19
NC: Hagan (D) by 6
OR: Merkley (D) by 10
VA: Warner (D) by 30

House

Democrats 268, Republicans 167

This is it.

we either get enough good senators and congressmen or we're screwed.
