... County jail IS in the city bud, that's what it's called. I think you have the term "county" mixed up with "suburbs" or "countryside." The term county & city is interchangeable here.

For example, if you get arrested in San Diego downtown, you'll go to the county jail (which just means you go to the San Diego (city) jail.

you are wrong in a way; take this from someone that has been arrested by ICE and spent a month in a detention facility.

the Department of Homeland Security was created after 9/11 to protect us against domestic and foreign terrorist attacks. They added ICE to their agency in 2003. Their main priority was to apprehend criminal fugitives and people who posed a threat to communities. At first they were doing ok, later on they picked on easy targets so they could satisfy their quotas each year. ICE also works in customs enforcement; drugs, black market, guns, etc.

Napolitano released the statement that says what she will be focusing on. She will be once again set the priorities this agency should have set from the beginning. focusing on deporting criminal aliens and workplace enforcement. while at the same time working on border security.

It makes sense to take care of the dangerous ones first. meanwhile something could be worked out as far as CIR goes. This used to be a very disorganized agency were everyone at ICE did w/e they want b/c of the power that was given to them; witch they abused. My old h.s friend works with ICE fugitive operations.

Obama says he wants to still enforce the law that's still in place. but he wants to do it in a way that he keeps in mind that THAT law may change. therefor he wants to enforce the law more on people that wont be impacted by CIR.

in my opinion, they SHOULD deport the ones who have committed those crimes that landed them in jail. if its a deportable offense; then there's no sugarcoating it. some of you here just say "secure the border no way, E-verify no way, kick criminal aliens no way".. and at the same time you want "lets get a path to citizenship"... come on buddy these aren't games. find a common ground with the moderates that could vote for us, otherwise stay sucking on our thumbs for many years to come.

Las Vegas is doing the same thing, not only are they checking immigration status, but ICE agents are also training cops. I guess there plan is to deport illegals in these jails, so it saves the county money.

I have to say sorry because I thought you said he was "PRIORITIZE CRIMINALIZE ALIEN" instead of criminal alien.

I think it's actually practical given that the state's in a budget hole. The governor's considering releasing certain inmates, there isn't a lot of money to go around, so it makes sense.
