who is being left out???... can someone please answer me that.
well people who are illiterate for starters, i know of a lady that lives in my building, she ask for welfare (for her kid) and works in a textile factory that barely pays enough.

There is also another women that is used to the old way of things, where the husband works and the women is homesitting.

Those are just two examples. I am sure there are going to be other people.

Not to mention that CIR is likely to have time restrictions, monetary fees, learning english requirements. Stuff of that sort.

I mean we, as DREAMERS, have that "boohoo, tough luck" attitude. Maybe not directly but we are pushing harder for dream than for CIR.

I would be happy and would wish for everyone to have their status adjusted, but we can almost all agree that that is nearly impossible.
Unless they decide to just open the border and let EVERYONE in, almost certainly some people will miss out.

i think that 'tiger' was referring to the "public charge" point. It is also in the Dream Act bill. One must NOT become of "public charge"... witch means that you could not be on welfare or receive food stamps, government aid.

as far as being a stay home mom, its normal... many women choose to take care of kids at home, while the husband works. but there IS an income from the house from one source. IF both mommy and daddy stayed home, yea that wouldn't be nice.

i suggest you read what schumer said. I think that he was right. the immigration advocates have to acknowledge the fact that illegal immigration is wrong. if they want open borders; then we all back at square one... and that's not good for anyone.

My guess is those that have are in the country illegally less than 3-5 years will be all the way in the back of the line maybe with no hope. Aliens living here more than 10 yrs will not be left out. Maybe congress will be generous and give everyone conditional status with a hefty fine. I don't know just guessing.

Plenty of people could potentially be left out:

-People with criminal records.
-People considered a "public charge"
-People who cannot demonstrate even the basic knowledge of the English language
-People who have been here less than 2,3,4,5 years. Whatever number they want to pick that's somewhat reasonable
-People who have no record of paying taxes.

There could potentially be other requirements that I cannot even think of right now.

I did mean people who become a public charge.
The stay at home mom, gets welfare and her husband barely works, not because he cant, but because he is lazy.

We all know that there is always going to be some people left out no matter what guidelines are set. Like i said before the only way for no one to be left out is for an complete amnesty. Which would be nearly impossible to pass.

I agree that it sounds biased and self-centered but there has to be guidelines that would benefit those who have been here the longest and have been paying taxes while still being productive members of society.

We can sit here and talk about how we only want whats good for ourselfs and do not care about any other people. But we have to be realistic, some people are unfortunately going to be left out.

No, it doesn't sound selfish at all. It's selfish for someone who is considered a public charge or someone who has a felony conviction to think that they deserve to get their status adjusted simply due to their presence in the US.

There is about 12 million of us. Some people deserve the adjustment of status and some don't. It's actually as simple as that. There should be some moral and economic criteria for adjustment. If I were a politician I would never ever vote to pass an immigration bill that allows people with felony convictions or people who leech off taxpayers money to get their status adjusted. It's just plain wrong. Being an undocumented immigrant, going to school and maintaining good grades, supporting yourself and paying tuition at the same time is difficult but its doable. We are the proof that its doable.

If we can do all this then two lazy adults can certainly get off their asses and find a day job and stop collecting welfare. Hell, I pay taxes, its my money too.
