Does anyone know where I can view video of today's meeting? That's if it indeed took place.

Apparently it did happen. The video can be seen here -- http://judiciary.senate.gov/resource...ndex.cfm?p=all

I haven't personally watched it yet though, maybe tomorrow. It starts 24 minutes into the video.

I just watched it. In case people haven't seen it and don't want to, here's a summary of what happened:

Schumer, Cornyn, and Sessions were the only Senators there. There were five speakers, all of whom made 10-or-so-minute statements about immigration reform. All five were extremely supportive and had the backing of their churches and organizations. The last speaker spoke about people like us, who were brought here as children, and how after we graduate college, (which only 10% of undocumented students get to attend as opposed to about 50% of citizens and documented immigrants) we cannot put our education to use.

Schumer was very supportive and said the time to act was now. Cornyn seemed relatively pleasant and open to the idea, though I still don't trust the guy to actually back a pathway to citizenship. Sessions was Sessions as always; with no shame he said that doing nothing about immigration two years ago was the right call and at the end he began to talk about how we have 10% unemployment now so it's better not to do anything again, blah blah blah, but was cut off because the Senators needed to go vote on the Senate floor for something. Sessions ended by saying he hopes that something "fair" can be done about people here illegally now and that they still can keep in mind that everyone is God's child, but I think that in his mind deporting all of us is his twisted interpretation of "fair."
