I'm not an idiot.

As you said, we have to keep this pressure up, and the mentality such as the one that outraged me won't pressure anyone. If we're going to start preaching complacency, we might as well start preaching inactivity. To be honest, sometimes I feel that this movement is lacking a charismatic leader from the bottom who can spearhead the movement into true, righteous action (as opposed to the Civil Rights movement decades ago).

All in all, my discontent with the hef107's post isn't channeled towards the Obama administration but more towards some Dreamers who sometimes don't seem to care (keyword: seem). Of course, this is totally an unfair judgement, and I have zero credibility; however, I know someone personally in a similar situation and he's content with working at a video rental store for the rest of his life. What the hell!

Thanks for caring about me. I am a bit angry today but I don't know why. I stayed home all day reviewing previous material because I cannot afford any new textbooks. Nonetheless, it's been quite a productive day.
we're just as frustrated as you are... so just relax.. we're going through the same thing...

dont judge that person for that, just because his/her goal is not as high as yours.. doesnt make him/her less of a person... before you start categorizing people just remember that you guys share the same situation..... and if ever you've accomplished your goals and become successful in life.. don't forget how and where you started....

Granted that he obviously did blow up there lol I still think that it's just an opposing opinion imo.

I think we should restrain ourselves from going bananas though... Most of us are already at the tip of sanity, we can't let the pressure break us this late in the game. Because if we do, we'll just end up doing stupid shit out there that ain't going to help any of us (i.e. riots, crimes, etc.). So just try to relax and be constructive in these forums out here, not just this one, all of them; because we're not the only ones who read these comments. There's a lot of alipac and antis looking for quotes from us to feed the flame of hatred. We have to show them we're better than them. At the very least, we have to shift that flame we have inside, towards advocating and speaking with our friends about the issue with the same passion we use to speak within these forums.

I'm no exemplary when it comes to advocacy but I've spoken to every friend I have about the DREAM Act and I managed to bring 3 USC with me to the march. We got to spread the word to Americans that will back us up on the issue. That's the only way we'll ever win this.
I'm right there with you I got 4 USC and one PR to come drive with me all the way from Georgia to march I at least now have the peace of mind to know I tried something for this the dreamers out there and to change this country. Stress wise its killing all of us I have a fiance who is pushing for me to stay so we can get married when she is 18 and my parents are hell bent on taking my ass to Brazil or they will deport me. I'm being pulled both sides and don't have a job to take care of myself all we can do is sit and wait but I think there is a certain point where its like f**k this but for now I am still going to try to the best I can and write to try and make a change

To Withchemicals, WOW! No comment.

To those offended by by statement, I meant no harm. Just simply words of encouragement. I've felt hopeless/mad/scared everything you can think of.. And I've realized living with those fears is only gonna eat away at me.. so rather than being pissed off, I chose to relax and be a little more patient.. Now if things don't change in a few years, I'm out! So I'm not being complacent here, rather learning to live life with being so concerned about getting old and never achieving my goals, that all I do is grow old.

Anyway.. I do take action, and I'm not just sitting around living wonderfully and loving my status. But shit, I'm not gonna let it make me feel worthless everyday of my life..

I was just trying to get people to think positive and realize things WILL change eventually..

..and by being thankful we're being considered.. I meant, they could have easily skipped legalizing the immigrants part, and had the bill solely be about enforcing stricter laws.. so the fact we're being considered should be a good indication of the good things that may come.. so lets not be so freakin miserable here!
