Graham HAVE NOT specifically declare that he will not vote for CIR.

Well, I guess he did a flip-flop right after HCR passed so maybe there is reason to hope for Graham at least.

I can't understand why the Democrats would even try to make a priority out of this issue. I really doubt it will be popular with the country right now. I also doubt it will garner them any long-term support. They really should have been pushing immigration a long time ago. They have demonstrated very little foresight here.

By the bye, I also don't really buy Graham's argument. If they have a general framework in place, it would just be putting specifics on that framework, which should only mean revising and tweaking earlier legislation to fit the new principles governing how CIR should work.

Timing is good, cus there won't be any better time. One thing American people want is secure borders. CIR will accomplish that. But what to do with people already in the country? Who are working, contributing residents only lacking federal authorization? Smart and only sensible way is to afford them a CHANCE, NOT AMNESTY, to earn their legal status. With a good CIR bill we are securing the borders and dealing with the undocumented population with a humane and fair approach. Plus with the biometric card, future employment of illegals would be non existent. So a reasonable CIR will essentially end the debate on immigration problems for the perpetual.

He is the only Rep on the board right now from the start and its him and Schumer working on it. Its a automatic yes vote from Graham.

I thought those were all non-committal. From what I had heard, Brown only politely agreed to hear the president out and not vote for anything. Again, I am doubtful of McCain, but I know you are more optimistic about him. I really only think he would consider voting for something if he lost the primary or if the primary were over. Till then, based upon recent behavior, I think we have to question whether he will vote for the bill.

Key here is he did NOT outright refuse. After all he took Kennedy's seat. (although he claimed it to be "people's seat", its STILL kennedy's seat).

Negative. These are the Reps that will probably say yes depending on the type of bill.

Coakley would have voted yes if she won the race.
