Reid may not be able to introduce this either, because the decision has to be made with the White House. In fact, the Arizona case has altered Obama that he has to push CIR this year. He is only 1/2 way through his service, and he has disappointed some voters (and many liberal voters) on many issues, such as health care reform and military actions. Of course, I have nothing to against his final actions because politics cannot be predicted.

Now, when Obama spoke against the Arizona case, he is actually testing the reactions of the congressmen. He wants to see whether they are interested in pushing CIR. He knows that he cannot push CIR right away, because energy bill is still sitting there waiting for a debate.

Now that Obama knows that Graham is not joining the game, Obama is upset.

If he cannot get Graham to join the bipartisanship, this mean that Democratic will not lose a lot of neutral voters as well, because neutral voters always want bipartisanship.

If Graham does not support CIR, this means that other Republicans, whether they have or are currently supporting CIR and DA, they will also stop their sponsorship.

Of course, Graham is very likely not going to play this game, until his 2012 year. So Obama has been pushing the remaining two bills that are sitting in-front of CIR, one is energy, and the second one I don't remember.

Regardless, if they cannot get these two things done before they are off for summer recession, any immigration effort is useless.

I doubt about the chance, but let's keep some hopes.

The problem is not the AZ law - bear with me - we all know this.

Unless you live there, the effect of this should be to push and demand CIR now! It is the symptom, not the cause of federal inaction; and what the focus should turn to next should be on the Dems to DELIVER a bill. Everyone should be going on the news circuit denouncing the fact that Schumer, Reid and most importantly the White House have been lying thru their teeth for the last year telling us that they were writing immigration legislation. Has no one read all the articles today? Time after time Reid keeps saying that the problem is that THERE'S NO BILL.

Why haven't you finished the bill?

Exactly!

Where the hell is bill they were supposed to have been working on all this time?

Please tell me they didn't get together for power lunches and photo ops while we actually sat here and assumed that when they said they were writing a bill, that's what they were doing. -smh-

It is probably because he is up for reelection in 2014 and he wants a fresh victory to sell to voters back home in South Carolina.

In case you cannot tell, I am being sarcastic. What makes us think he will take immigration up by 2012 if this is an issue that is bound to weaken him in the face of a far-right opponent, which he would likely face in South Carolina? If he is turning John McCain on us now, what is he going to look like in 2012 when he has to gear up for a reelection campaign?

Moreover, why would we suppose anybody is going to deal with this issue in 2012, which is another major election year, and a year when Obama himself will have to move in a more moderate direction to try to win reelection? This guy should go into retirement so that he can have guest appearances on the Oprah show, write a book like Sarah Palin, and have his own show on Fox News.

Right.....Dems will introduce a bill no matter what, and if Reps try to block it by majority, there will be a political setback in latino votes. I'm pretty sure Reps don't want to look as the bad guys at the end.

Either way, Dems will try to introduce a bill, then they will say that they tried but coundnt because of lack of Rep support in ad campaings.

Politics, politics, politics........that's how it goes......Hope they get something done!
