Yes, they're all primaries except for PA-12. However, had Specter won tonight, Teabagger Pat Toomay would have probably won the general election. Now, save for any major gaffes, Sestak will probably be the next junior Senator from PA.

Did any of you guys ever expect this? Right now I only care about the special election in PA, but seeing the turnout of Dems, especially for the Kentucky Democratic Primary, where both Democratic Candidates got more votes than Rand Paul. It really gives me hope.

1)it means that centrist Democrats are being replaced by real progressive Democrats shifting the political zeitgeist to the left.

2)it also means a better chance of keeping the seats in Democratic hands come November since Republicans won't be able to take advantage of the anti-incumbent climate.

If Democrats manage to hold the majority after the November elections which is likely to happen, it will surely be game set match with CIR. However, our priority right now should focus on trying as hard as we can to get it passed before elections.
