I'm a minor, so I play the "my parents are divorced" card. Only had to use it once, pretty sure the cop knew I was lying but he probably figured it wasn't worth the trouble, or he was a sympathizer. We have friends who have run into those. They'll just ticket them for speeding instead of not having a license.

Here in WA they've tried to get initiatives on the ballot pretty much EVERY YEAR against the driver's licenses. This year they collected like 30,000 signatures (I got this number from their website) and they needed like 200,000+ lol. They'll try again for sure, but we're at least safe for another year

What's the Utah lisence like? How can it show that you cant board planes/buy beer etc.?

it says on it "not valid for identification" in red letters. its good for driving but not for an id..

source: my brother had one.

short answer is YES, tried a lot. unless you already had a CA driver's license from about around 2004, then you wouldn't need any proof of identification when renewing it.

source: i obtained a CA license two years ago and my work permit recently expired, they always asked for proof of legal status.

I'm dying to go to Washington, I have the money just no way there.

It sucks.
