We need to push to have this done the moment congress comes back into session after elections.

New senators don't get sworn in until January. The lame duck session is the period after the elections and before the new senators get sworn in. So we have about 2 months before any new senators get sworn in.

The Senate isn't scheduled to return to session until Nov.14th or 15h; And isn't Congress gone for most of December and part of January?? They've already given up half of September; all of October this year to campaign. Just goes to show what a wasted opportunity they passed last March. Even last fall, they could have added Dream Act to the defense bill; but they wanted to string along the CHC and the 'advocates' who've again had an epic fail in strategy. Sigh. The only time would be in November to pass DA, but it worries me that there's not a date.

thats not true. this year we have 4 special elections in Colorado, Illinois, West Virginia, and Delaware. Winners of those races will be sworn in during lame duck session instead of January. so for us, those elections are must wins. we have to ask everyone that we know to please go vote democrat on nov. 2nd

Agreed! That's why they're called the 'No' party.

They are always saying no for every bill that is put into the floor. They want to make sure Obama looks like the one not doing anything so when re-elections come-- he won't be re-elected. SMH. Bunch of bigots I say. G-d forbid a Hispanic woman becomes president.

Delaware I'm kind of thinking a Democrat will win. Lots of conservative polls says while they like Christine O'Donnell personally, they don't feel she has enough experience for the job. I thin the Democrat candidate is like 15 points ahead of O'Donnell in the polls.

West Virginia I'm inclined to say Republican, pretty conservative state. Colorado and Illinois I have no clue; Colorado is traditionally conservative state but during 2008 elections, majority voted for Obama so who knows.

Yes. I believe Chris Coons-D will win in Delaware and O'donnell is clearly is crazy and stupid and unqualified to be a senator. She believes in no sex outside and marriage and she believes masturbation is a crime and says she's a witch and dabbled in witchcraft years ago, and believes that any kind of abortion is wrong and should be illegal even in the cases of rape or incest.. and this is just the tip of the iceberg. See how crazy shes is?? But Mike Castle-R is thinking about a write in bid so we will see. But no. WV isn't a conservative state. Both Senators Rockefeller and Goodwin and the Governor Manchin are all democrats. But the republican candidate is currently leading in the polls by a little bit. Colorado is not a conservative state but is a swing state. Republican candidate Ken Buck the tea partier (for getting rid of department of education and anti-amnesty) is leading in the polls against a democratic candidate Michael Bennett. In Illinois, republican candidate Mark Kirk is leading in the polls against the democratic candidate Alex Giannoulias for the race for Obama's old senate seat. So, besides Delaware, in WV, colorado, and Illinois, all democrats are all trailing in the polls.
