Don't worry or despair (at least for now).
The House can pass bills very quickly, compared to the Senate.
If the Democratic leadership in the Congress really plans to pass the DREAM Act during the lame duck session, our chances lie on the Senate, not the House. It will be relatively easy to pass it in the House either before or after the Senate passes it.

its the last bell to bring controversial shit to life, if something can get 2/3s of the house its probably best to leave it to the republicans

this is not final yet. It all depends on pelosi. If Pelosi wants to bring something up, she'll bring it up immediately. In the House, Pelosi is very powerful

So Pelosi will be a minority speaker in the next congress?

Ok lets analyze this... We have 5 weeks before the assholes go home for christmas. If they say there will be no controversy on the first week, then we dont have to worry about any tough bills that will take up all 5 weeks. If they try to push for Tax cuts or dont ask dont tell before the dream act, then we're all fucked.

Pelosi is still the Speaker of the House until Jan.

So, from now until Jan, Pelosi could bring up whatever bill she wants to. She's not bound by the schedule set up by Hoyer.

There is no such thing as a minority speaker or the majority speaker.. There is only one speaker of the House..
