Rather than argue about this, why don't we just generate publicity like the antis? Obama won because he tapped into the new "instant information" generation. Y'all have social network pages, use them to fight fire with fire.

Also, everyone stop arguing and get back to work on calling, faxing and emailing. Don't wait for the information to come to you. Do something to affect it.

I think we need to call Reid and tell him to not fuck this up for us and leave the Haitian thing out of this.

I don't want to assume anything, but I get the impression that a lot of members are simply sitting and waiting by their computers for more information rather than actively calling, faxing, and e-mailing. I'm not suggesting that we drop everything and devote 24/7 to this, but c'mon, this bill is being attacked on all fronts, and people are arguing about hypothetical scenarios. It becomes, "So it's going to be attached to the Haiti bill? That' BS, it should be a stand-alone." Then, someone will say, "FU, don't be selfish; let's fight for Haitian kids." All the while, that self-loathing bitch Michelle Malkin is rallying troops around her absolutely despicable cause.

Those of us who have been fighting for this since 2001 know that this bill isn't going to be simply handed to us on a silver platter. It takes LOTS OF ACTION, and even then, it's still tough (anyone remember our 2007 roses campaign?). So, rather than argue, everyone STFU and get your asses in gear.

Mods, I'm almost tempted to ask for a moratorium on non-screened posts so that people don't sit at their comps all day waiting for the news to come to them.

This process is different.

1st, most of the amendment process takes place in senate

2nd, since dream act is coupled with haitian bill in house, the senate could amend Dream Act once it reaches the senate.

The last time Republican senators were mad because they can't amend Dream Act in senate. but this time, they could do it now.

This is called the ping-pong process.
