Ok so you would rather want a Republican president, face it no one told you it was gonna be easy there sunshine. His priorities are and will still be the economy. So seriously, have some fucking common sense.

No, you're the one who doesn't understand. Immigration isn't his first priority, remember that. Also not all the latino voters voted for him. All the people who voted for Obama didn't vote for him because he is going to pass the DA but they voted for him for other reasons.

Some of the Dems and reps dont give a shit about Obama, so talking to some of the senators, especially the 5 Dems and the reps was just a waste of time.

Even if he tried putting an immigration reform during his first year, it wouldn't have passed. The president is a smart man and when it comes to immigration, we have seen, not all democrats unite. Republicans would've filibustered anything related. Want it or not, WE ARE NOT THE CENTER OF THE WORLD.

I really hate how people can have a "word" when they don't know about the political climate out there. If we want to have a chance at passing anything, we have to keep ourselves educated in what the issues are. You follow a leader expecting the best, but when he fails to deliver (mostly because the other side wants him to fail), you ditch him dry. He still has two years which can well be used for our big push. This country is undergoing some major change, of course, you won't see it because all that matters to you is one issue. Next year we are going to take our protests to the streets. Not only advocating for the Dream Act, but for a CIR.

There is really something wrong with this forum. I started noticing it when they placed the age cap at 30. We became humans and started going against each other. I have plans to advocate for both DA and CIR in this upcoming 2011 and I'm planning to make a website where this won't happen.

This completely, I think we have focused way too much on our benefits while not letting the community know that there are other things we care about. We need to start organizing and funding ourselves to be what we know are to the public. Whatever it maybe, fundraisers, charity work, informing the immigration community of various laws not just immigration reform. These kinds of things will get us noticed and get us more light than Sen. Durbin introducing us as just "some smart kids" (no offense) we can't expect the Senators to defend us, we have to defend ourselves. While calling and faxing helped a bit, we need to help the community.

I understand what you mean, but the least he could do is push for every bill he supports like he did with the Healthcare bill. I don't care if the president is a republican (not right wing or radicals) as long as they support and push hard for a CIR Bill.

Hahaha you're delusional

Also, What makes you think he didnt push? As president, he doesnt have to call Senators, shit he doesn't even have to talk about it. Stop blaming him for our problems and our mediocre plans. Let's be real, we have people like Gabby Pacheco and fellow DREAMers that work very hard, but there's also people who dont do jack shit and complain. If we want this to pass, we need to unite and actually do work!

don't get me wrong. i'm not mad at JUST our president. i'm mad at everyone in congress who put politics first instead of doing what is right. i kinda wished now that hillary won the primary 2 years ago. she seems like she has more balls than barack.

i think you're wrong on this one. you're making it sound like you're just in it for yourself. obama has actually done a lot of positive things since he became president. i just wished he pushed more of his agenda out there. oh well.
