It's federal law. States could not do any type of legalization, and even if they could, they wouldn't. Immigration must be fixed on the federal level.

States can adhere to strict regulation of federal law on immigration. You also can make more heavy charges for being in a certain state illegally. Right now the Federal government is deporting all felons so if states say being in there state is a Felony then you can be automatically deported. SB1070 right now has survived 6 of 8 lawsuits and the other two have parts of there suits thrown out and they have not determined the rest. Once the Supreme court makes a decision on these Arizona law cases every state can use them legally on the state level.

States are broke because of the foreclosures , economy, and no jobs so they will all be cutting there budgets the first thing they will go after are the benefits that illegals are getting. This is the game plan of all this state court battle. It is a bigger battle right now than the Dream Act or CIR because if these states implement there on policies they will just stop illegals from getting benefits and start deporting them. Benefits are not only food stamps or something they can go after education which is one of the biggest cost to states.

I just want this to totally blow out of hand, so there will be noticeable reasons as to why we need a CIR or something like the DA. It has to become completely ridiculous and unbelievable in order for it to get as much attention as possible. Yes, it will suck really bad for a while but in the end, the anti's are the ones that will look like dumbasses when everything hits the shitfan.

This State senator from Arizona is the one to watch out for all of his immigration bills have passed so far in front of state supreme court and are now close to holding up in the US supreme court. Pearce has now finished introducing birth right citizenship in a way that will not interfere with the 14th amendment.
