They are planning to do a filibuster reform so instead of 60 votes it would only need 55 and actually require you to sit in the office and bullshit for infinite amount of hours until you decide you are a moron for filibustering and just let the bill pass through. This was a rule on the old "filibuster" method but it was practically never enforced, so now if a senator wants to filibuster something he will have to sit there and talk.. talk.. talk..

I wouldnt be so negative about it but also I have to be somewhat realistic. Most likely the house will be a problem but if a border security bill is passed maybe the house will be force to vote. My opinion is that if a border bill passed and the DA passes the senate and then goes to the house, republicans in the house will be more pressured to pass the bill because it they kill it that would just doom them on the next elections for sure. Another important factor is that the economy has to improve otherwise they will play the unemployment trick but as many anchors have said 2011 looks promising for the economy.

Better try this in 2012, when people expect Democrats to retake the Congress and Obama defeats Sarah Palin.
I'd have to agree with "Immigrant" here. A powerful, conservative tidal wave swept over the United States last year. It's hard to describe, but that's where we've headed, unfortunately. We need to somehow do everything in our power to benefit Democrats in our district/county we live in, as it's going to be our first step for advancing forward with immigration reform.

Biden has nothing to do with this, Filbuster reform has to have 67 votes the numbers in the Senate between Rep and Dem are a mere 5 apart counting the (Indepentant) why would the Republicans give away there power to stop the Democrats in the Senate?

This is the same strategy we used in 2010. We passed a boarder security bill, then passed the Dream Act at house. We think that this will put more pressure on senate to pass the bill because if they kill it, that would just doom them on next election and blah blah blah. BTW unemployment rate on 2005 is about 5% and they killed CIR. Republicans just make excuses after excuses.

You got a point but if u look back the border Bill they passed wasent the one republicans asked for in the first place so its not just republicans preventing its passage.

If this passes, this will be a major victory for the future DA/CIR bill.
