I would rather have the Democrats in power. They actually tried over and over even though they failed. I also don't think it was anything malicious and it was just because they're not organized enough as the GOP. Furthermore, clearly the Democrats must benefit from passing the bill because this would increase Hispanic support for the Dems while retaining a majority of their own support. The Democratic Party or the GOP aren't altruistic parties that works for the common good of the people, they work to keep their support. Immigration isn't a big issue like the economy (economy affects all US citizens/residents),but slowly immigration is getting to be a bigger issue. I am sure they will pass a half-assed legislation soon, that would benefit many of us. But I am also sure they will delay the hell out of CIR, to avoid being "too controversial" because in this scenario they would probably lose more votes than gain, seeing the nice xenophobic atmosphere running rampant in America.

Clearly he hasn't fulfilled it either. That is seriously such a retarded statement. The democratic party can go another 50 years without passing the legislation and still claim to not have broken the promise. It's just been delayed by <insert some excuse here>.
