I am the writer/director of the film. And, no, I'm not a Dreamer. But I did come here undocumented and a lot of my family and friends are undocumented. I can understand your frustration but, in this case, it's unnecessary.

How did he start working in his field? He used a false social security number. And only when the "No match" letter from SSA comes in does his employer discover his status.

I suggest you fight the enemy and not your allies.

It's probably going to be a poorly acted and dull film, but it doesn't have to be. I mean, they could make him fight back and go on a killing spree against his employer and his family and stuff.

They could have cheesy punch lines in the film like "He's not your average Joe, he's Joe Rodriguez." It could be B-rated and awesome.

Well said! I'm confused about the plot though... Will it follow the lives of several dreamers or just Joe. There are many types of dreamers besides the gifted, like the ones that can't go to school because they must support themselves and sometimes even their family/partner. What about the black, european, african, Asian etc. dreamers?
I'm just trying to give constructive criticism because perhaps a movie that shows different angles of a dreamer could show how our lives vary but our struggles are the same.

I hope it turns out well! I've already backed you up. Peace!

if everyone could just donate at least $1 and tell 5 friends to do the same, this movie can happen http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...american-story

Thank you for the thoughts. And you bring up a great point. The issue is so complex that there are so many stories to be told.

Yes, the storyline only follows Joe but there are other Dreamers also.

But I promise this won't be the only Dreamer film I make. I have many stories I need to tell.

Thank you for your support!
