Mnrunner this is about us! Not our parent's they made their choice stop worrying about them and start worrying about your self...

I have a feeling the hard core repubs will do a big show again to stop E-verify if Dream Act is attached..They might succeed but then again they might not guys..
Yup. These levas might not compromise, but others might. Just because these guys say no, it does not mean that other Republicans will vote no. We never know. Let's see what happens.

Even if she can't work, I don't see that as a problem. I plan to take care of my mom's finances as soon as I am able to work. I will have to work my ass off, but I honestly don't mind. Parents give everything for their children, so I don't see why I wouldn't give back.
My parents don't really care if they're legal or not. They do independent work in the private sector, so they can care less if e-verify is made mandatory. What they do want is the DREAM Act to pass. If I were to become legal, I could likewise take care of my parents finances.

I feel radical republicans will vote against this (duh).
However the Rep. Party realizes they cant also go against something like the Dream Act.
Because yeah Latinos arent happy with Obama for not doing enough, but at least hes doing something.
If Republicans turn down this offer, which is a good compromise, so close to the elections, it could mean another defeat. Latinos rather vote for those who try and fail than for those against us.
Or not vote at all.

If they pass it, at least they'll be on decent footing.
Its a whole generation of children who will now be free to choose their party and people whom they can lobby for.

I think we are in a good position to pressure them.

Though Obama COULD do more. So much for being the president...he gets few things done because he lets himself get pushed around.

Not to support Bush (dislike him)...but he went to war without anyone's permission. Whether it was wrong or not... he had the courage to do it.
Obama should learn a bit from that.

In your dream you think any of republics will step up and compromise on DA. Yes some of them might come to table if we had repubs president in white house. None republicans will come to compromise on DA untill we have Obama in the office. Only way it possible if Dems gets majority back in both chambers of congress in 2012 and Obama gets elected again.

Take my word Obama won't do shit untill he gets re-elected. If he really want it do something about immigration then he would have done it while dems had majority in both senate and house for 2 frekin yrs.

And that is exactly what Obama is waiting for, his re-election and maybe taking the House back. He will probably own up to his promise on DA/CIR since he won't have anything to lose.

It could happen. As for 2012, what guarantee do I have from you that 2012 will bring a favorable situation for us? You can base your predictions on statistics, polls, theories of international relations . . . the truth is no one knows what will happen. Likewise, no one knows what will happen with this bill.

Dudes, what is up with the numbers 2012/2013????? Tell me what F***en guarantee do all of our asses have that the status quo will change??? What if it stays the same or gets worse by then? I say we pressure now even if the possibilities are bleak because no one can assure us that the Democrats will regain control of congress and waiting and inaction are futile strategies.
