Student visa is good, But Don't we have to Renew them back in our home countries?
We won't be able to work on a stud en visa, how are we supposed pay for college if we can't work?

Still, you can get a driver license with student visa. This is also great for dreamer who are EWI and want to get marry.

Its better then being undocumented plus an opportunity for H1B leading to GC.

Dreamers are in college now and lot of them have graduated already.

Once you have a student visa then EWI does not matter. Your status is F-1.

Pursuing is not good enough.

You can apply for student visa while in school regardless of major. That makes you legal and can apply for other legal status after graduation.

Only the advanced STEM degree holders may apply for the green card program.

You just need to be in college with any major for the student visa. Reading the text, I think even the community college is good enough.

It is sort of like Dream Act, but you get a student visa instead of a provisional green card.
Thanks for the info. Would we need to return to our home country to renew our student visa?

I'm looking at this as something that can at least help those of us who want to leave the country. You will have some sort of legal status, making it easier to immigrate to any other country.

A student visa remains valid as long as you are in school. It is the re-entry right that expires. So as long as you stay in school and don't plan to travel out of the US, you are OK.

And it was possible to obtain F-1 visa while staying in the US, so why not?

That, you have to plan ahead by going to school in states that offer in-state tuition to minimize your financial burden, and try to get an associate degree before transferring to a four-year institution. You will be able to work part time upto 20 hours a week while in school.

Thank you.

I'm just hoping that the GOP doesn't end up removing the part pertaining to undocumented students.

That's Democrat's job to convince GOP that this is not an amnesty, but a chance for young undocumented students to prove themselves.

The original Dream Act stipulation of an Associate Degree was too lenient anyway.
