I agree that financial aid is better than nothing, but we don't want to give them the impression that all we want is the money. If all you care about is getting the most out of system only to leave later, you are not being a good example of what a DREAMer is supposed to be.
Just the way I see it. Maybe I care too much about the public opinion (the majority seems to oppose us), but I think that earning respect from Americans is the first step.

The way I saw it, it was a response to counter the SB1070 movement that was being observed by some other states and in order to keep pressure on the government to take up the federal dream act sooner rather than latter as the issue was not just going to disappear after the lame duck session failure of the DREAM Act. It shows there is support out there for the DREAM Act, and it shows people are willing to invest on dreamer's education.
