We will never become a future voting base, we will pour in taxes and take nothing in return and this will no longer be a party lines issue, and in no way is it Amnesty (Its just an opportunity to survive).
Lets change the tone and really give this a chance.
I agree, we need to get them to change the bill. But even if it was shorten to that, I doubt republicans would vote for it, why? Because they're just plain haters.

I was like " Oh yea our leaders are finally renewing the push! " then I read the word religious and my heart sank.

You know, I thought the same too! haha...Still this is great news. If us dreamers can't change republican minds to vote for the DA, then religous leaders might have better chance to do so. Religion is a great tool to manipulate politics.

I read "Oh yea our fingers are finally renewing the push! " and I was really excited. But then I saw leaders and my own heart sank.

The fact that no one in office ever thought of reaching a compromise like this to give us some sort of relief for 10 goddamn years really proves they're not willing to help us. I won't look back when I get tired of this and leave this country.

exactly. For the democrats, we are THE wedge issue. They can use this issue to tell the Latino voters that "look we are the best you got, if you support the republicans, they will deport your mama but we are fighting for your cause". It works well for them. They don't have to risk pissing off the independent/centrist xenophobes by enacting "amnesty", and at the same time, they have the carrots and the sticks for the pro immigrant crowd. An actual reform would put an end to their wedge issue.

You guys do know that Republicans don't go to the same churches as these "religious leaders" do right? Where they go to worship, they slam their hands with the bible, pretend to heal blind people by touching them on the head and talk in tongues.
