I think Rick Perry, if given the chance, would help out immigrants. Maybe I'm wrong but its what I believe.

I'm doing alright. I went to Coronofest tonght and saw Molotov. Thats a tough one though, I don't know what to tell you. I'm glad that I am here and I have a job, I feel like I have respect at my work and I kind of feel important which mean a lot to me. But on the same side, I'd rather be doing what I am doing now in the US because yes it is a first world country. But it really isn't that bad. You just have to take precautions here that you wouldn't in the US and have to be on your toes but so far, we have been very lucky and no problems. We had a great time tonight. But as far as Mexico City goes, I've been there and I will tell you I much prefer Puebla. In fact my favorite city so far has been Tlaxcala. I'm just not the big city type I guess.

But I digress. I don't know, you have to weigh all of the facts. You figure you can come here and be a professional and have dignity....thats the good things. But you are going to a country that isn't as rich as the US and there are more poor people out there and more risk...thats the bad thing. Possible dream act eventually passes, but in my best judgement I don't really think its gonna pass for another 4 years at least. If I had to bet money on it I would. There will eventually be immigration reform, but you have to figure that in my research, even though Latinos make up 16 percent of the population in 2010, they only made up 6.9 percent of the actual voters. I think its possible to delay this issue for many years though I am positive it will one day pass.

I completely understand. But I really dont want to be 30 years old and have no experience in my field. I want to start working. But I also know mexico has alot of poor people. But I too dont want to waste my time and life. I am certain immigration reform will happen, the problem is when? My brother also has education but he tells me that he is willing to wait for atleast another four years. I guess he doesnt really care about gaining experience. Its tough.

I agree, I think waiting is a gamble. Its possible that you could get a good job here, work and get experience and maybe come back in ten years. I also see a lot of opportunity. For example, everytime I see a Subway or McDonalds or Burger King here, it is literally flooded with people. I think its a prime country for entrepreneurship. I feel if you are smart enough, its possible to live really well in a really nice area with a good car.

And you wouldn't believe it, but there are plenty of Americans here with full US citizenship walking around that are either retired, or are making money doing what I just said. San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato is flooded with them. But I have run into many of them.

But I agree with you though, I think its a good idea to get out and feel important and start enjoying life.

But you are right, experience is everything. Even if they passed it in two years, its not like a magic bullet. You are still gonna have huge gaps on your resume, and you will probally lose the job to an H1B applicant from India.

Yeah, or who knows, you might like it and decide it isn't bad. Maybe you decide that your engineering skills could really help out a developing country. Or even if you get frusterated with it, there is always that option you mentioned.

Did you see that TV show INICIATIVA MÉXICO? They have this new reality type show where people come up with ideas to solve the countries problems, and you can text message votes on who gets the money to try their idea. We were watching it on TV the other day.

Feelin you man. My dad works at a gas station at night as well. It's definitely tough but for someone like you...its even more difficult because you already have such a great background in engineering. It's frustrating to not being able to use your education but that is the main problem we are all facing. CIR is definitely going to happen...I am 100% sure I will not be here for it..so I am completely with you on this one...just passing time for now.
