Very true. And, I think that Obama even has to stay low if this happens and not take sides, or he is in deep shit.

But you know, even though I have said that the bill could gain momentum, Republicans, like Lamar Smith, would probably kill the legislation in committee. Many Republicans in the lower house are really far right.

Very fair. The only problem: Republicans are fucken stubborn.

I will not accept theories that have previously failed. Get proof, then talk to me.

Man I give up If you all don't want something to pass then Fuck the ARMS Act and Fuck the DREAM Act. I'll just marry some bitch.

Bye Dreamers, I hope in 10-20 years you all would be legalized already. I've never seen such strong individuals overcome tremendous hindrances. Stay strong.

Do you realize that you still can't get legalized fast being undocumented? I think they require you to still go back to your country, THEN apply for green card (although they fast track it because of the marriage thing). I think it's like a 3 or 10 year ban, unless you just overstayed your visa. Then i think you're eligible to just "adjust" your status. But with illegal entry, it's a ban before applying.......Good luck.

The best hope right now is the ARMS Act.

Yes, the ban is the problem...being EWI is an issue. I am an overstay and I still think we get ban.

Kingsam73, your picture freaks me out haha

Haha, it's just like a Druid with an entire galaxy in his hand. Shows he has the power and will.

Yup. I've seen dreamers (including myself) get their hopes up only to realize that it was all politics (by both sides) and that politicians will tell you what you want to hear.

That's why I'm basing my decision to leave on the following factors:

Dems in the senate
Dems in the House
President
Dems who support the bill
Reps that support the bill
Unemployment rate
Anti-immigrant climate

We just don't have the votes this year so don't get your hopes up. Let's see what happens in November.....however, the composition of the senate will not change much and the house might still be controlled by Reps.

Key thing to remember: Reps won't support the DA until the "border is secured". Blue dog Dems won't support it either. Given this, I don't think it will pass during Obama's next 4 years.

The ARMS Act might get a lot more support from Republicans, but only if the U.S picks a fight with Iran and after the "border is secured" This can take years.....even then, Dems will not support it and Obama will not sign it if it means that Reps give up on the DA. (by feeling that they've done enough for dreamers and CIR).

Obama will win re-election, there's no way of getting around that. As long as the unemployment rate is high, the anti-immigrant climate will remain.

My future is not so bad since I managed to save enough to buy a house (a decent one), so I'm not hating because I probably won't benefit from the DA or AMRS Act.

Don't get me wrong, I want something to pass...I just hate career politicians: 90% of them.

Rather than being optimistic, be proactive. Get an education and hope for the best.

Marching downtown and calling senators, sit-ins, and hunger strikes haven't worked so far, so at the very least focus your hopes and courage on improving yourselves.
