This is a good news. So this one does include college and not just military.

Ok. So lets speculate on what this "new" bill would look like. I will begin.

1) No more conditional residency. Straight up Student Visas. By the end, you bounce from this country or else your ass will be tossed out by force.
2) Age cap will be reduced to somewhere in the low 20's effectively ending DA User's hopes.
3) You must have a degree from a 4 year institution.

i think what they want to end is the chain migration part of it, if thats the case they should just give us TPS

In that case, the Dems will block it.

Let's see what happens.

They've all come out saying they're in favor of only those of us who serve in the military gaining citizenship. So, that will be the only way to get a Green Card. Of that, I am sure.

The age cap is an iffy thing because, hey, the whole point is to exclude as many people as possible. So, maybe it'll be moved again. Maybe it won't. But based on the military stand they've taken, when you look at the military service age restrictions, the Marine Corps Reserves takes people up to 29.

Either way their version won't even come close to the DREAM Act we've advocated for.

The Dems better smarten themselves up! Reid and Durbin always said that they hoped the Repubs to would come to them and comprimise. Well? That's happening (even though they're working out the details in secret atm), and Dems better be willing to comprimise on the DA (without disqualifying the original DA eligibles). I hope this new bill won't be like the ARMS Act whereas it doesnt have much of a chance like DA to pass. I hope that Rubio and stuff modify the DA by just adding things like E-verify and stopping chain migration and all that good stuff.

expect something like this.

1. no path to citenship only a work permit and or work visa.
2. at least a bachelors degree in a science field (math, physics, engineering, chem, etc)
3. four years in the military.
4. age cap at 30 maybe lower.
5. have registered in selective service
6. 3000 dollar fine.
7. no criminal convictions whatsoever.

Hmm....i agree with chessmaster. I expect something similar like that, too.

The Hill is reporting that a small group of Republican Senators are drafting an alternate version of the DREAM Act that would allow illegal aliens who attend college or enter the military to receive an amnesty. According to The Hill, the key difference between the Republican version and the Democrat version that failed in both 2007 and 2010 in the Senate is that the legislation would not provide citizenship to illegal aliens. Instead, it would provide a renewable visa.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has been connected to the legislation, but didn't offer any specifics when asked by The Hill.
