This is a step in the right direction. Things are heating up in the government. They are scrambling to win the latino vote.
Right. This is good and GOP are desperate for Latino votes. They better pass the Dream Act soon.

USCIS
I read somewhere that 70% of the cases with Extreme Hardship got approved in 2011.

Was anything filed for 245i? If not, I think you have to serve the ban first then the clock starts but I maybe wrong. Are you over 21?

I would have benefited from this change in procedure. What this new change does is reduce waiting times. For instance I had to leave the U.S, triggering the 10 year ban and now have to file a waiver. Had I waited I would have been able to file the I-601 Waiver from within the U.S and would have had to leave U.S with a waiver approval in hand, basically guaranteeing I return to the U.S with Visa in hand. The only problem I see is what happens to those who's cases are reffered or denied?? Will ICE come knocking on your door?

Immediate Relatives of U.S Citizens. Especifically Spouses, parents and unmarried children under 21. And It´s not really a reduced timeframe, but you dont have to leave the country while your waiver is being adjucticated.

Sigh. My mom's a USC, but unfortunately I'm over 21. Looks like this won't really affect me at all..

Yup, similar situation here. It'd make more sense if more categories were included like Unmarried sons and daughters (over 21) of USCs as well, not just Immediate Relatives of USCs that are EWIs or entered with someone else's identity.
