Thanks everyone. I am getting more signatures. Again, this is our chance to get Democrats to listen to Rubio's ideas, which sound quite reasonable thus far: a visa with the option to apply for residency and citizenship like everyone else. This is our chance. Now is the time to take action and make an impact.

Rubio wants our help. He wants our feedback. If some of you are worried about the age limit, take action and let him know, so he can address our concern(s) in his upcoming bill. But, don't reject his ideas just because he is from the right. Let's be strategic. Let's fight, so that we may finally live! Let's send out the message that the Democrats are rotten if they block a GOP bill that is reasonable and fair.

I would consider myself a Conservative/Republican, but I'm not so sure Rubio's plans are the best way of going at it. Hopefully it doesn't just make our dreams pipe dreams.

I understand. But, please recognize that his idea is reasonable and fair. We would be able to get a visa with all the perks (e.g. drive, go to school, work, etc.) and apply for residency and citizenship like everyone else. It respects the idea that kids should not be held responsible fore the actions of their parents and the arguments/concerns of those who have come here the legal way.

Dude, 35?? Seriously. We all know that is a HUGE NO NO!!! Remember that was one of the major points that republicans and conservatives in general always bring up. Please. Make it 30. Don't want to sound like an ass but its reality. We cannot take the whole cake from the party just a piece. That is exactly why the DA hasnt passed. Because our so called "leaders" and organizations always fkn ASK FOR TOO MUCH!! Make it 30 please.

I agree...it's just hard to make the argument that this bill is meant to help the "kids" when you're fighting for 35 year olds. I think 30 makes sense and here's why:

If you were 18 in 2001(when the DA was proposed), then you're probably 29 or 30 now. My guess is that people over 30 who would have benefited from the DA have probably adjusted their status by now (through marriage or family).

So let's take what we can get and for those who are over 30, we will always remember and respect you. I mean it. You inspired younger generations of dreamers to follow their dreams and for that, we thank you.

Age was never a big issue. It was only 30 in the lame duck session. If they are going to put 30 then at least add the Retroactive Provisions for someone already have a 4 year degree.
