These were my sentiments exactly throughout freshmen year. Rubio is looking ever more and more like a cynical career politician who is just doing this to vault his status and salvage some votes for his party, knowing the bill might be likely to fail in the house, just as I suspected. Yes, I def agree with you though. Plan Bs at the ready people, there's no point in waiting for the American congress when there are degrees to eb earned and then if nothing happens other countries to move too.

It's all about fate. Maybe our situation might've been worse had we never came to America. Maybe there is a reason behind this long struggle. We can not stop living if this bill doesn't pass. We must live on and find new paths. But yes definitely a huge tribute to all Dreamers and undocumented hard working immigrants for going through this.

I think the pressure needs to be put on the Obama administration to issue a parole in place. He can argue that he is doing so because of humanitarian reasons. With the GOP in control of the house, i don't expect anything to happen regarding any legislation.

Immigration reform advocates wasted more than a year arguing with Obama over whether he had the authority to stop deportations of illegal immigrants - or at least determine the order of who gets removed so that students and people with U.S.-born children would go to the back of the line.Well, of course he has this authority. Presidents have tons of executive power. In fact, Obama has splurged on it. He has used executive power to direct the Justice Department to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act, which allows states to not recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states; create more environmental regulations to curb greenhouse gas emissions; grant state waivers from federal education mandates intended to increase accountability and raise academic standards; loosen the terms for borrowers to pay back student loans; and bypass the Senate confirmation process to install officials using recess appointments.
So when the president was claiming he didn't have the power to stop deportations, maybe what he really meant was that he was terrified to do anything about the practice, because he knew that he would be portrayed by opponents as weak on combating illegal immigration.

Saw this coming. They are going to delay the bill as much as they can so that they can try and pass this as close to the November elections as possible. Which is politically smart, but personal this is horse s***.

Couldn't have said it better! I believe that there is a deeper reason why we're going through this situaton, who knows? Our futures may turn out to be very bright and successful even though things do not necessarily look that way right now due to uncertainty. We need to always believe in ourselves regardless of whether or not politicians believe in us. Let's face it, there are other ways apart from the Dream Act (whatever version) to get a Green Card in the US.

We may actually be a fortunate group of people that will have success in the future, you never know. We all know what it's like to experience low times and yet we somehow manage to pick ourselves up, keep going, aren't afraid to go for our dreams and never give up, that is the basis of success. We have good things coming our way, we just need to stay strong and believe in ourselves ONLY!
