No. You sent me a private message, and you clearly highlighted why I got an infraction. And, it wasn't for "calling people out" or profanity.

You defend what you would benefit from. I don't believe you are 25.

Smooth, it's alright bro. Don't spoil your weekend because of some stupid news like this. It has no sense in it. You are a graduate of an American institution. You know this bill will not pass!! So don't overeact. Just let the game play out. Both Rubio and Obama are cornering themselves. Watch what happens...I guarantee you one of them will have to fold and completely surrender and this will mean something will happen for us.

II. Posting GUIDELINES
Make sure you post in the right forum.
Try to use proper grammar and write clearly.
Try to stay on topic. If you have something off topic to say, do not hesitate to create another thread in the appropriate section.
This forum will not censor explicit language, but we ask that you refrain from using it unnecessarily.

What happened to censoring profanity or explicit language? Who deems it to be necessary or unneccesary? I can argue that my language is necessary/justified because the actions/intentions of Daniela and Rivera are inhumane to another level.

You guys need to define what is necessary and what isn't. Or eliminate the rule. Or do something else. Or ban profanity altogether. Stupid rule.

Stay strong for few more weeks fellas. Something will come through..I'm sure. Dream is not Dream without us. Simple concept that you and these politicians in particular must digest. Stay the course..that's all we can do.

Now, they also have to be accepted by a 4-year American university, only then can they get a non-immigrant visa.

=====!!!=====

Here's the punchline, anyone who is18.5 or younger, can leave the country without a ban, and simply apply for a student visa. If one already has an acceptance letter from an American university, and has shown that they are willing to leave when their status goes south, their petition will most likely get approved. You used to be able to do it from within the US, but I think they have changed it a bit.

The only thing this non-immigrant status would grant, is the right to work, which is usually also granted to graduate students with their visas. 8-year waiting period for the right to apply for PR? Come on.

This is not a dream act, it does not actually do anything, and if the legislature actually wastes their time and takes it up, it will be the biggest political farce of all.
I was misinformed and didn't even know about the 18 to 18.5 age thing. Besides, how could I get money to buy a plane ticket to go anyway?

It doesn't matter, I am now one of the many that have passed the 18-18.5 age and now are banned for no reason.

It gets me a little mad to think that the girl pelaez who inspired this senator to write this bill. She basically created a bill that would benefit her. She didn't think of the older dreamers. I just turn 19 years old, I qualify for this bill berely. But seriously I can't afford to go to a 4 year college right away. Right now I am at a community college. Well hope it passes

Articles are saying it's 19 and younger, but the actual bill says:
Quote:
the alien was younger than 19 years of
age on the date of the submission of the appli-
cation under this section, except that the alien
may submit an application under this section
before attaining the age of 21 years in the case
of an alien who, before attaining the age of 19
years, was granted voluntary departure
I'd say that someone wouldn't qualify for the STARS act if they were 19.

Here is the text of the billhttp://rivera.house.gov/sites/rivera...TARS%20Act.pdf
I found it on Rep. Rivera's website.
