Obama didn't have any courage. He did it because it was for his political advantage. He didn't want the GOP to get any credit with the immigrant community. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done it. He's just a POLITICIAN for crying out loud. And I realize Rubio was trying to do it for political reasons too, but something passed by congress is muuuch harder to revoke. That's a fact.
Of course Obama did this for political advantage, he's a politician and it's an election year. I don't know how you can blame him for that. And even if he did this at this time to prevent the GOP from getting any credit, then it was a brilliant political move. GOP has only to blame themselves. They are the ones who refuse to compromise. Every year we see the DREAM Act more and more watered down in attempt to get the GOP to support the bill.

I also completely disagree with you that Obama didn't have courage. For once I think he did display courage with this move because of potential backlash.

Yes, something passed by Congress is harder to take away. Though let's be realistic with no bill to speak of and Rubio stating he *might* have the bill by end of summer, what were the chances of Rubio's bill ever getting to the President to sign. How many DREAMers might have been deported or left on their own had Obama not announced deferred action? Btw, this isn't EO, but a memo.

How about we take the FIRST step of getting the Work Permits first before worrying about the future?

We haven't even started the process yet and you're already trying to discredit Obama, where is your sense of loyalty to a man that had the courage to stick up for us?

He (Obama) has at least done something for us, we should support him so that he can come through for us in the future. He's shown us with ACTIONS not just words as Rubio did that he does believe in our potential. He's helped us, we need to help him, that's life.

You can't always get what you want in life, but for crying out loud, be grateful and prove yourself valuable to this country when given a chance as we've been given.

I get that this is the way politics is played, it is all about strategy at the end of the day, but I'm not so sure that you truly get that concept based on the demands and insinuations that you keep making.

President Obama did it for the same reasons that we are here today, to gain something out of our current situation. in his case, he wants the support of our family and community. and in our case, you all know what we want... so take it easy dude

I have no loyalty to any party, or politician. He should expect me to support him, just because he did the right thing.

I am a centrist, and when I become a citizen, Dems better not take my vote for granted as they do with Latinos now.
