The Wicked Witch of the West just wants to be in the history books. She will be, but on the losing side of the debate.

She shouldn't be able to.

She won't be able to stop your application because USCIS is not under her control so she has no authority over that. But the Dreamers in Arizona just got screwed. She is the governor and policies like driver's license and state ID she does have control over. Federalism at work

For those of us who have lived in Arizona for the past n years, this is devastating but not at all surprising. I'm half-expecting Arpaio to set up a parameter around the USCIS biometrics center so that he can put us in one of his jails, for christ's sake.

We gotta hang tough, and see if we can get our licenses from a neighboring state.

This is just a move to make political noise by that attention whore.

If the federal government grants you deferred action and an EAD, there is NOTHING that any state can do to overturn it.

So, just relax.
But she can still block it until a court looks at it right?

Is this even possible? Under the Real ID act we are covered. If the state is to be compliant with Real ID they should have to give ID to everyone covered, not pick and choose.

I have a strong feeling the ACLU will be all over this like the comment with Virginia concerning EADs.
