The thing you have to remember is that history isn't written today. I have no doubt that in 50-100 years, this will definitely be a civil rights issue and hopefully the right thing would be done. Gay rights may be spoken of more often but I think they had a head start in gaining rights and since they're citizens for the most part (sorry Mr. Vargas), they have more leverage and power than immigrants, but our stories will come out when most of us become legal and citizens.

I think part of the reason why our voices aren't heard is that we don't want to hurt those in our families who either help us or are in the same situation, but with enough time passing, our stories will be heard.
