This has nothing to do with immigration reform or the discussions pertaining to it. It's not like the Senator went around hiring undocumented people on purpose. Heck, most Senators don't even read the bills they vote on.

Honestly, if this holds up the process then they were never serious about reforming the system in the first place. If anything, this shows the need for reform. I have no idea what this young man did, but he's a registered sex offender for a reason. His poor choices shouldn't reflect upon the millions of other people here that have had very little/no contact with police and only want to provide for their families.

Or peeing in public. The whole sex offender thing is bullshit unless they specify what it was for and give a context.

During discussions about when and where to arrest Sanchez, the U.S. reviewed Sanchez's application for permission to stay in the country as part of President Barack Obama's policy to allow up to 1.7 million young illegal immigrants avoid deportation and get permission to work for up to two years. As a sex offender, he would not have been eligible. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which oversees the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, notified Sanchez of that shortly before his arrest, one official said.

I think he was set up, he was denied and then shortly after arrested, this is unfair, just deny him and let him go on, why arrest him for being undocumented ?

When DACA was introduced I was begging you guys to be at your best behavior. Why? Because any story that remotely anything do with an "illegal" whether it has anything to do with anything will be tied to why there should not be immigration reform by the right wingers.

There is an AM hate radio show host in Texas (i won't name him) who was using this story today to go on an anti-immigrant rant. "The left has you thinking that all immigrants want to do is come here and play nice" and I shut off the radio because after he mentioned this guy was 18, I knew where this was headed.

That's what we're dealing with. So again, DACA folk, you have a gift. Don't do anything stupid because if this guy had nothing to do with DACA got this type of news, imagine the right's response when someone on DACA commits a crime.

I don't think any individual here can tell if a Dreamer has "Good moral character" issues unless they worked for the Government or the Dreamer in question mentioned so.I do agree though with Swim though the system is working.
+1.

I don't believe he was set up he applied for DACA knowing he didn't qualify and like we all know if USCIS sees that you're a threat they turn you over to ICE.

True. The sex offender registration program is a bit flawed. They make people registered for the stupidest offenses.

Like, If you are having sex with your GF in your car or in your house by a window but someone happens to walk by and see.. If someone claims to be offended by seeing you or a cop wants to be a dick, you may be arrested and forced to be a registered sex offender.

I do agree with the program because if you do a search, almost all registered sex offenders have serious shit on their records. For example, rape or sex with children. They should be castrated for that. But some people do get screwed!

We don't know the details of his offense but considering he was free and doing good for himself, Im sure his offense was minor. Working for a senator is doing good for yourself in my opinion. Im pretty sure he just got screwed.

THINK TWICE NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO PEE IN AN ALLEY, LAWN OR ANYWHERE SOMEONE MIGHT SEE YOU!!!!! LOL..
