I would like to know a timeline for dreamers. Once the specifics are out for both bills, I am hoping they will offer retro to dreamers who are over the limit, but may have already completed certain requirements, including whether or not a degree has been finished.

Would also like to see the opportunity for military enlistment.

We think of DACA with an age limit but should leave it as an open question on 'if' the Congress will impose such a will on just "Dreamers".

On the article concerning the pathways,I wrote something similar.I wonder if they are reading the forums.

The second option is not cool. It says we would have to return to our home
Countries for a bit of time. I'm not okay with that, for my parents that is. I need my moms cooking lol.

^This.

How many people are going to risk leaving even if they have a petition already in the system? Very few.

The only way option 2 works out for anyone is if you can get a waiver before you leave the country and won't be gone for more than a couple of weeks.

Everyone will jump on option 3 and just wait the 10 years to become GC holders.

I think the second option was difficult to understand.

Isolate this line,

Quote:
Currently, most of those immigrants would have to return to their home country for either 3 or 10 years before they would be eligible to reapply.
and I think what they are getting at is that the current status quo would become null.

For example, lets say an EWI wants to get a green card through marriage. This would not be possible without leaving the country for 3 or 10 years, as per their ban requirements.

This bill would essentially allow them to stay. At least, that is what I am understanding.

Ah, a bit of egg on my face there. I see what you mean. Hopefully we'll find out more once the bill text is made public. I somehow doubt they will make the out-of-country-wait terribly long. The point of CIR is to fix major broken issues, such as the required leave for several years to a decade.
