I feel that two years is not enough time to prove if you are going to be a good citizen. Many people are criminals in their Country and are coming here to run away from the law.

My honest opinion is make everyone who is undocumented in the US at this point be eligible for this. I know it seems unfair for this equal treatment but the fact remains that if the limit is set to like 5, the same issue will rise in a few years. This really must be the LAST CIR bill. Two years seems fine to me. Maybe the rest can wait a few more years and be eligible. Also, I get the feeling that the reason why there is no info yet on Dreamers is probably because they're planning to put DA as an amendment AKA immediate conditional permanent residency! PRAYING for that right now!

I'm kind of disappointed that dreamers would have a attitude like this. You guys only want CIR to benefit you and as long as it pass, it's okay to exclude other people. You guys talk like you are better than them because you stayed longer. I hope this is not the case. The only reason you are here longer is because you break the law earlier. I understand that it's politic and there needs be to a balance, but we shouldn't hold this kind of attitude, at least not from a dreamer.

I'm against having a 5 year or 2 year requirement. This bill needs to include as many people as possible, if not, 10 years later, we'll be facing the same problem again. Lets say the requirement is two years, do you think someone who stayed here for one and a half year would just go home because CIR doesn't benefit them? They will stay for the same reason you and I choose to stay, for family union, working for a better life, education and etc.... Remember that people who only came here 1 year ago, come and stay for the same reason you and I do. They are family loving people who are just like us.

Newer undocumented immigrants should not be deported or be separated from their family. I propose that they will be given a defer action like status that allow them to work, pay taxes and drive. After 4 or 5 years of residence, they can apply for a temporary visa/status that older undocumented immigrant would be getting, then they can apply for green card and eventually citizenship.

What if a kid come here to reunite with his family one year ago and CIR doesn't benefit him? He/she is going to stay because his/her family is here, just like you. He might not have a strong tie to United States right now, but 10 years after he would and will see himself as an American. He's going to find out the truth when he apply for DL or college and would be facing the same problem you are facing now.

Sorry about the long post guys.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. There has to be a requirement, whether five years, two years or one month for CIR, otherwise you'll have people trying to get here within the next three to four months in order to qualify under this bill. Remember the article on people crossing the border and turning themselves in so they could prove they were here before the bill was enacted? I'm not agreeing/disagreeing with the two year requirement, but I understand why they've decided to add one as opposed to not having one.

I'd like to see something that includes as many people as possible, but Republicans will not sign onto a bill that allows every undocumented person that is in the country on the date the bill is signed to benefit. That is just the reality of what we're facing.

This statement is unbelievable. There may be a small percentage of people who are criminal, but you think it is a good idea to deny everyone a chance. Most people come here with the same reason your family had. What you said sound just like someone who is against immigration reform think that all immigrant are drug selling, gang associating, lazy welfare taking illegal alien.

I stated that I recognize there needs to be some balance. It's the attitude that I'm disappointed. Like this one,

No offense Happyman0607, I know you are a good man, but I disagree with you on this one.
