Alhought it might seems that I am not doing anything about this or any other thing, I have been working really hard to get things done. Someone called today for an interview and I was not able to do so. The camcorder, therefore microphone and recording device are attached to the camera. I had been trying to get the camcorder, I call every day and night to my cousing. She does not know how to use the camcorder and it is always collecting dust bewteen my usage but she lives in another time and she just wants to give me a hard time. I though that school started next week so the plan was to record the interviews and edit them in the next weeks. I just check up and school starts the 27! I already e-mail a couple of friends, asking for their help and professors for a permit. It will still take acouple of days for an answer. If I get two people to help me, it will cut the editing time by 80%. I am still strugling for this idea to take off but I strongly believe in it. I also want to tape a couple of people who gain nothing with the passage of Dream but that support it anyway. An organization already is lending me their support. I want to make commercials for the Dream Act. I want convice people who not know about the issue to act and Dreamers in the shadow to do something about it. I am sorry for all the difficulties and the problems. I am doing as much as I can but right now, it is not enough

I am the only one that actually writes/reads this posts!? Well, some good news, a prof. is going to lobby for us at school and we might get more than one student to help videos. They might even make it class assigments. I am still putting grease in the whell but if this occurs we are going to pull it off afterwards.

Most of my friends graduated and moved to NY or LA. A few are out of town until school starts. A friend e-mailed me a few hours ago and told me that it sounded interesting, He wants to know what I have in mind concretely. If he enters the deal we get access to his private collection of goods. He has a microphone and small mixer machine, a camera and a way better editing system. One professor already send me an e-mail and ask me to meet him in person next Thursday to discuss what I have on mind. The others might had not reveive the e-mail. They probably though it was spam and did not even check it. If I can get one more in boar, we are going to have a really huge boost in support. It worries me a little. Although most students are pretty cool and reasonable, some have their weird ideas. Like illegas are making wages go down or illegals are making healthcare expensive and the classical mexican are not adapting like the chinese. It is a fact because my mom is a ESL teacher. This last nugget of wishdumm came from a lefthish vegetarian hippy. I told him, dude if mexicans cannot americanize then what the hell I am. His response, not you of couse! The proof that graduating from college does not proof actual brithness. The lights are on but no one is home. I will try to get my act togueter and we are going to make it after all.

I am sorry not to respond to each and everyone of you but there is some many of you and only one of me. I want to be careful because i already burn an innocent person that tried to help, Sorry Californiadreaming'! I am still waiting for the damm camera and tomorrow another important Dream act related meeting that will take me all day. Thus, I want to get to you guys as soon as possible and say to my soon to be resources, what I am planning to do. Here is the plan:
A 1-3 minute video about the Dream Act. Just what it but with music and neat visuals.
A 1-3 minutes about the demographics, who will benefit with this law
A 1-2 video of law abiding citizens that are in favor of the law
Several 1-2 minute biopics of people who will benefit from Dream Act. No names, addresses or other sensitive information. I can also alter the voices but that is usually not necessary. Those the interviews with pertaining visuals and music.
The vidoes will be posted in you tube, facebook, myspace, this forum and whatever other place we can attach it. We can even make a neat DVD and send it to the senators like hrvatica13 did to the stories.
This is a mammoth of a job and the deadline is Sep. 4 which might get my prof. weary they might also want to do something else. If any one has a question or comment, please send me a PM or just post it. In the best case scenario I will have so much talent and volunteers that this is going to happen and we are going to watch ourselves in you tube while drinking a Dr. Pepper.

Yea me too! That's kinda why I wasn't exactly sure where to go from here. I know you're working on the video, but where do the phone interviews fit in? Are you going to record them somehow and use or voice-overs in the video, or are you just going to use a narrators voice or something to repeat back our answers? So yeah same for me, if you need help let me know, or let me know when you're available so I can call you or vice versa, but I am useless with technology so I can't help you in that regards lol

Yes, the interviews are going to be used as voice over for the videos. What people need to say is more or less what they wrote for their new member post. Probably way less, a minute of speaking is about 75 words or less. First, I need to say something about the nature of communication of mass distribution. Writting tends to be more dense and intellectual. Two minutes of writting packs more information than two minutes of video. Video tends to be more human. It is not the same to read about RavenDove or Mecuador than to actually hear or see them. We are not going to see them but we are going to hear them. They are not going to be a number in a mass of shadows no more. The videos with information is because, lets face it, reading is not the tea of cup of this grand nation. I went to the Juan Gomez site and all the information they have for Dream is the winkipedia. If a member of that site is reading this, do the world a favor and change to HopefulDreamer's Q&A for new members is short to the point and neutral. IF I can translate what she said to a 1 to three minute video and make it neutral but engaging. It is going to inform people without making them roll their eyes. Many people only need to know about Dream Act to be in favor of it. Many confuse CIR with Dream and they are not the same. Many people think some undocumented immigrants deserve a chance and this will help them to know that we are one of such groups. Alipac rolls everyone in the same sack. Thus, we like that guy who killed people in New York, only bad people. It is in their advantage that no one knows what the Dream Act is. I hope this gives you more insight about my plan. I know many people want to help but we all live so far apart and it is impossible for you all to do much for this. That is way, I am looking for local volunteers which is doing well. If I can get three people, this is going to be really great. Thanks to everybody that pay attention to my rants.
