I agree with Happyman0607 in that a pathway to citizenship is a must. Immigration reform is a recurrent controversial theme in this country, since Reagans' presidency up to now in Obama's 2nd term. It has been 27 years since that 1986 immigration reform act, 27 years that politicians have been satisfied with the status quo and would defer action (pun not intended) on changing the system for the better because this issue is very risky politically. If we let this go through without a pathway to citizenship, it will probably be another 27 years very long period of time of second-class status because Congress would be complacent and satisfied that at least something comprehensive passed.

But even if this current CIR movement fails, another one is surely to take its place within a few years (as opposed to an extended period of "Hey, we already passed something" years).

I don't think you realize what will happen if the house version passes with no path to citizenship... Believe me you would rather stay undocumented than to have it..

If it passes EVERYONE has to apply or else you will NOT be able to work due to e-verify (which is not implied everywhere at the moment) you will have to abide by many ridiculous requirement such as a min income, no obamacare, no SSN benefits or anything else.

If it stays the way it is now, being undocumented you can still work, you can get married for a solid path to citizenship and you do not have to meet ridiculous income requirements and other ridiculous criterias that half the congress men's family's wouldn't even be able to meet.. Like I said.. It's better to stay undocumented and finding other means to get legal status than to have the house bill in place and have to follow by the nazi rules.. I have been with my girlfriend for a long time, we plan on getting married a couple years down the line, but for everyone's sake and for my family's sake I don't want to see my parents being 80 and having to meet ridiculous requirements and working like mules with no benefits just to stay here and as soon as they can't anymore they god forbid get thrown out and are screwed..

I feel sorry for you because you seem like youre really hard headed, one of those people who don't really think long term wise how bad this would be for you and your family, plus you really need to set higher standards for yourself, again these are politicians, they're supposed to do what's best for the people and this isn't whats best for people.. This is creating a second class society in the United States and it's unconstitutional and wrong and anyone whos blind enough to not realize it probably deserves to be in that second class of society..

Yes, their people.. The large growing group of minorities that are USC's with undocumented family's, it's what's best for THEM. After all, they are trying to win over the Latino vote
