It's this kind of attitude that is unfortunately pervasive among young, voter-eligible USC and why voter turnout among people 18-30 is so low. There IS a difference between the Democrats and Republicans, in spite of what one would believe.
I'll be the first to stand in line and say I wish immigration was the #1 priority. I wish they would have gone after immigration reform instead of healthcare reform while they had the house and the senate. I wish DACA wouldn't have had an age restriction from the start. That still doesn't change the fact that Republicans are the ones holding back immigration reform now. It's not complicated.

I will say this once again: any presidential candidate who wants to remove DACA and replace it with immigration reform, especially one that does not create a path to citizenship and focuses on meeting border security requirements before said legal status IS LYING! Republicans are not interested in passing immigration reform. It frustrates me when dreamers somewhat believe them. Immigration is an issue, may it is one Dems like to have in their back pocket, but it's one republicans don't want to do anything about besides demonize us!

The immigration bill passed the then Democrat Senate and Obama was going to sign it. If the Republicans would have brought it to a vote and it passed (which some say it would have), do you really think Obama would have vetoed it?
Hard not to grow fucking cynical when you watch this circus go on for years.

To be fair, Bush isn't lying. He does want immigration reform. He just massages his message by lobbing accusations at Obama in order to win over his audience.

Still, if he's elected president, the problem still lies with the House Republicans.

True, of the Republicans, he's the one who is most genuine in that position. The concern lies with the Republican caucus.

I think that we can all agree on. I wish it was priority #1. The age maximum restriction should not have been put in place, I agree. Why is a person 30+ years of age, who otherwise has been here since they were kids, any less deserving of DACA?

Anyway, let's just say that at the end of the day, we're all dreamers here and want the same thing.

With congress controlled by republicans, no president will pass an immigration reform bill. Never, a bill would be come to voting

Says the guy who wants to take away DACA. Seriously, any dreamer who supports Jeb Bush when he flat out said he will cancel DACA should just voluntarily give up their Deferred Action status. You know, as a sign of support for the guy WHO WANTS TO CANCEL DACA.
