There is no such thing anymore. Everything is political. That's yet another reason why the presidency is so important.

Rational Self: I am yet to read the judges comments on their decision. So. I dunno their reasoning. From what I heard, even accepting the hearing was exceptional news and the bar for lifting a stay is higher than for a case itself. Therefore, the judges prior decision shouldn't play a role. As one of the most leftist lawyers out there explained, "the court only stated that Texas has a right to sue." Still, John Oliver gave a powerful argument as to why politics play a role. Bill Moyers was even more tragic but his piece was during the Bush Ad. and I am too lazy to look for it. In any case, it pays for the 5th Circuit to just rule against it because their promotions are at stake and just let the Supreme Court made the final decision.

Paranoid Self: What I don't like its the timing. Although experts consider this a good thing for the Democrats, it can also boots the morale of their Republican core. Still remembering the Bush Administration, they fuel on hate and fear the way mold feeds on moist bread. It is good for both teams really because now they have a controversial subject for their respective campaigns. Now, they can use us and demonize us the same way gays, single mothers and "urban crime" has been use in the past to really not talk about the real issues. This is a life changing event for us, the moral fabric and the invisible hand but it will hardly have a dramatic effect on every day lives. Not the way 9/11 had it even though Republicans want to makes us believe it does.

Personally: I am not going to wait until 2020 to get my life on track. I'm 35 and the most productive years of my life are not going to be wasted counting walnuts. I'm tired of being scold by people stupider than me. I'm tired of writing reports for someone else. I'm tired of seeing people who can't do math without a calculator and make a complete sentence in English call my coworkers stupid and chat while we carry 30 lbs. boxes all day long. I'm tired of being called lazy for taking my legally entitled 15 min. break while they take 45 min. lunches. Sorry for the bitter rant but this is how it is for me. Mostly, I want a career not a job. I want a house, not a rental or a mobile and I want a child to raise without handouts or severe deprivations. I cannot do it here the way it is. If this thing drags on, I am going back to Mexico and work at a bank or a Japanese Corporation. I'm very grateful to this country because I would never in the history of my life would graduated from college in Mexico but loving too hard someone who doesn't love you back is harmful. Sometimes loosing is sticking to a death horse no matter what. This is something that may be impossible for some of you but it is a feasible thing for me.

There is absolutely no way i would ever go back to Mexico voluntarily. Even as an illegal, i live in luxury compared to the kind of life i would have back home.

Well, that was my impression for years. It may be the situation for most ppl in this forum. I wrote like a 10 page memorandum and then I remember I am not in the Supreme Court. Mostly. I am giving short term luxury for long term financial security. I can give all my reasoning which is pretty detailed if anyone is interested. If only my only regret is that I didn't left in 2007 when I graduated. I was afraid of being poor, away from my family in a country I don't know anymore. It was going to be only temporary and would probably ended up in good job, traveling through Mexico and accruing assets. Oh well, life is what it is and not what you wish.

I'm going to wait until July 10th and see what happens. If things don't go as we'd hope, I'll just try to adjust through my wife now that we have a baby. Hopefully it all works out.
